Willem Frederik Baron Röell (born October 25, 1767 in Amsterdam ; † January 3, 1835 there ) was Dutch Foreign Minister and long-time President of the First Chamber of the States General .

Röell was employed by the administrative authority in Amsterdam in 1793, but lost this position during the revolution in 1795 because of his attachment to the House of Orange . After the Peace of Amiens he returned to civil service, was appointed State Secretary by King Louis Bonaparte , went to France in 1807 and was then given the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 1810 he resumed his dismissal and devoted himself to trading. After the founding of the Kingdom of the Netherlands , he became Minister of the Interior and in 1817 joined the First Chamber of the Imperial Estates , of which he was President for the sessions from 1818 to 1819 and later until 1834. He was a defender of Dutch free trade. On February 19, 1817 he was awarded the honorary title of Dutch Minister of State .
