The place is located 23 kilometers west of Ried im Innkreis and 12½ kilometers southeast of Braunau am Inn .
It is located on the western edge of the Innviertel hill country at around 445  m above sea level. A. Höhe am Riedel between Moosbach and Lochbach.

The place has only 4 addresses with about 10 inhabitants. The municipality boundary runs directly between the houses, so that two are in Treubach and two in Moosbach.

Passing the village, the L1054  Moosbachtalstraße leads from Mauerkirchen to the L1062  Leitrachstettener Straße , which , coming from the Mattig Valley, continues the upper Moosbachtal towards Höhnhart .

history

Wim names are related to Widem , a spiritual asset. So here was a forest that probably belonged to the Moosbach parish , but has largely disappeared today.

In the Bauer im Wimholz location there is an old farm belonging to Waasen. Already in the 19th century after the creation of the local parishes ( 1848/50 ) its outbuildings were in the neighboring parish. As a parish, he still belongs completely to Moosbach - as a Catholic.
