Schacha is a place in Innviertel Upper Austria as well as the village of the municipality Moosbach in District Braunau am Inn .
geography
The place is located 23 kilometers west of Ried im Innkreis and 11 kilometers southeast of Braunau am Inn .
It is located on the western edge of the Innviertel hill country at around 410 m above sea level. A. Höhe in the front Moosbachtal, on the southwest edge of the Schachawald . The Lochbach flows past below.
The village, classified as scattered houses , has about 25 buildings with around 60 inhabitants. It includes the locations Am Dambach , Schacha and Sonnberg , as well as Am Schachawald on the other side of the Schachawald.
The L1057 Aspacher Straße leads through the village from the B142 via Treubach .

history
The place name is a Bavarian spelling of Schachen ( Old High German scahho ) 'wood', mostly as the remains of the forest clearing .
To the north above, towards Hufnagl, there is a long-lost castle, the Burgstall Schloßberg . A manor house is mentioned here in the 18th century, but it could not be determined more precisely. In 1779 it belonged to Count Haßlang with 6 houses.
