Moosbach is a place in Innviertel Upper Austria as well as the village of the municipality Moosbach in District Braunau am Inn .
geography
The place is located 24 kilometers west of Ried im Innkreis and 10 kilometers southeast of Braunau am Inn .
The village of Moosbach is located on the western edge of the Innviertel hill country at around 400 m above sea level. A. Höhe in the front Moosbachtal, west of the Schachawald . The village has around 40 buildings with around 120 inhabitants.
Moosbach is not the formal capital of the municipality, that is Waasen . The municipal office is located in Moosbach, and it is also the postal location. Moosbach and Waasen are now largely grown together, the official border runs Wilhelm-Mayer-Straße - Kirchweg .
The B142 Mauerkirchener Straße leads through the village .

History, infrastructure and sights
The parish church of St. Ap is located in Moosbach . Peter and Pope Silvester , the only Silverster Church in Upper Austria. It is mentioned in a document around 1070. Parish church and cemetery are under monument protection .
There was also a noble seat here , around 1220 a Vlrich de Mospach is called. Moosbach Castle used to be where the parsonage stands, 1817 Hofmark , which was later converted into a penal house. Hofmark Moosbach and Waasen were not in the same ownership, the latter was united with the Aspach rule and at the time with the Counts of Haßlang.
In 1995 a medieval earth stable was discovered.
The parish chapel (at Moosbach 4, listed ) is also worth seeing . The linden tree on the Pfarrhofberg (Pfarrerberg) , a natural monument ( NDM 362 ), stands above the village .
