geography

The village lies on the right bank of the Reichen Ebrach and is surrounded by arable land and grassland. A little further to the northeast, the Rannengraben flows as a right tributary into the Reiche Ebrach. The Weich forest area is about one kilometer south .

history

The place was first mentioned in 1128 as "Winede" and in 1174 in the protection document for St. Theodor as "Ditgers winds". According to the place name, it is a Wendensiedlung , which was planned by the authorities in the Middle Ages.

By the end of the 18th century there were 14 properties in Wind. The high court was exercised by the Bamberg center Bechhofen . The village and township government had the box office Bechhofen ( Theodorische administration ) held. The landlords were the Bamberg Monastery (Kastenamt Bechhofen: 5 estates; Administration Sambach of the Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg : 3 Sölden ), the parish of St. Stephan (1 Gülthof) and the parish of Sambach (3 Sölden). A house and a shepherd's house were buildings used by the community.

As part of the community edict , Wind was assigned to the Sambach tax district, which was formed in 1808 . In the same year the rural community Sambach was formed, to which the place belonged.

In the course of the regional reform in Bavaria , Wind was incorporated into Pommersfelden on May 1, 1978.
