history

The place was first mentioned in 1109 as "Sûinaha". In 1296 the Bamberg Monastery of St. Theodor acquired property in Schweinbach. In 1363 the Truchseß von Pommersfelden acquired an estate and the bailiwick there . In 1545 they owned a large farm and three estates. In 1733 the Fulda monastery was a liege lord over Schweinbacher estates. The gentlemen von Schönborn were enfeoffed with it .

At Schweinbach there was a castle of the ministerials of Cratz. The castle was mentioned in the fief book of the St. Theodor Monastery, which must have been built between 1556 and 1576. After their destruction, they moved their headquarters to Sambach.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 16 properties and one community hall in Schweinbach. The high court was exercised by the Bamberg center Bechhofen . The village and township government had the box office Schlüsselau held. The landlords were the bishopric of Bamberg ( Kastenamt Bechhofen ( Theodorische Verwaltung ): 4 courtyards, 1 drip house ; Kastenamt Schlüsselau: 2 Hufen , 1 Gut, 1 Gütlein; cathedral chapter Bamberg: 1 courtyard), the Schönborn lordship of Pommersfelden (3 Sölde ). In 1802 there were 17 subject families in the place. In 1804 the Schönborn estates passed to the Counts of Nassau .

As part of the community edict, Schweinbach was assigned to the Sambach tax district, which was formed in 1808 . In the same year the rural community Sambach was formed, to which the place belonged. In the voluntary jurisdiction, three properties were subordinate to the Pommersfelden Patrimonial Court (until 1848).

In the course of the regional reform in Bavaria , Schweinbach was incorporated into Pommersfelden on May 1, 1978.
