history

Sambach was first mentioned around the year 1000, when Count Heinrich von Schweinfurt gave the place with its Slavic inhabitants to the Fulda monastery. The place was originally the seat of the noble free von Heroldbach-Sambach. By 1237 at the latest, the family died out. In 1249 Sambach became the seat of the Cratz family. Since then the place has also been called "Crazsambach". The Hochstift Würzburg was a feudal lord , apart from the estates, which were a freed of the Cratz. The lords of Liebenau, the Spieß and the customs officers were the Würzburg fiefdoms , as can be seen from the fief books of 1303 and 1317. In 1297 Konrad and Friedrich Craz sold an independent property and two goods next to the rectory to the Schlüsselau monastery . In the next decades, other goods came to the monastery. In 1414 the Craz sold their remaining goods to the Lords of Egloffstein . Soon afterwards the castle, together with the goods and the tithe, was owned by Truchseß von Pommersfelden . They sold this property complex in 1482 to the Nuremberg patrician Peter Rieter . In 1509 they passed to Anton Tetzel the Younger, who was related by marriage to him. The Reformation was introduced under the Tetzels . In 1622 Georg Tetzel sold his claims to the Nuremberg Council for 23,000 florins. At the beginning of the Thirty Years' War , Johann Gottfried I von Aschhausen , Bishop of Bamberg and Würzburg, invaded Sambach, had Tetzel captured and in 1629 forced the sale to the bishopric of Bamberg , which, following Würzburg, already had feudal claims over Sambach. In 1631 the Counter Reformation was carried out. The income from the place went to the Jesuit College in Bamberg. At the same time the feudal lordship was transferred to the college, while the high cent remained with the bishopric. With the abolition of the order in 1773, the Sambach administration was created, the proceeds of which went to the University of Bamberg .

At the end of the 18th century there were 46 properties in Sambach. The high court was exercised by the Bamberg center Bechhofen . The village and township government had the bambergische management Sambach the University of Bamberg . The landlords were the bishopric of Bamberg (Sambach administration: castle, 10 Gülthöfe, 3 breweries, 1 blacksmith's shop, 1 mill, 1 school, 1 brickworks, 14 Sölden , 10 Tropfsölden , 1 house; Bamberg cathedral chapter: 2 half yards ) and the parish Frensdorf (1st floor ) Fiefdom). A house and a shepherd's house were buildings used by the community. In 1802 there were 45 subject families in Sambach.

In 1802 Sambach came to Bavaria . As part of the municipal edict, the Sambach tax district was formed in 1808 , to which Oberndorf , Schweinbach , Weiher and Wind belonged. In the same year the rural community Sambach was formed, which was congruent with the tax district. With the second community edict (1818), two rural communities were formed:

  • Oberndorf with pond,
  • Sambach with Schweinbach and wind.

The municipality of Sambach was under the administration and jurisdiction of the Hochstadt regional court and the tax office of the Höchstadt , from 1862 to the district office of Höchstadt an der Aisch (renamed the district of Höchstadt an der Aisch in 1938 ) and continued to the Hochstadt rent office (1920–1929: tax office Höchstadt , from 1929: Forchheim tax office ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court of Höchstadt until 1879, 1880–1959 the district court of Höchstadt and from 1959 the district court of Forchheim was responsible. The municipality had an area of 7,891 km².

Until June 30, 1972 Sambach belonged to the district of Höchstadt an der Aisch . The municipality of Sambach was incorporated into the municipality of Pommersfelden on May 1, 1978 as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
