coat of arms

The coat of arms was approved on July 4, 1994 by the Dessau Regional Council.

Blazon : "In gold over a green shield base an upright black wolf with a red tongue out, in a green shield base a lying golden ear with five awns."

It goes back to the von Wulffen family , which is documented with Bernhard and Gero von Wulfen from the year 1156 and begins historiographically with Hans von Wulffen (died 1177) as landlord on Wulfen. The coat of arms of the von Wulffen shows the wolf, who is also the main figure in the municipal coat of arms. As a reference to agriculture and the natural environment, the municipal coat of arms also has a golden ear of wheat in the green shield base.

The coat of arms was designed by the Magdeburg heraldist Erika Fiedler.

The colors of the former municipality are black and gold (yellow).

The flag was approved by the county on September 4, 2008.

The flag is black and yellow (1: 1) striped (horizontal shape: stripes running horizontally; lengthways shape: stripes running vertically) and centered with the municipal coat of arms.
