The ZIS-115 was the armored version of the Soviet ZIS-110 presentation car. It was only produced in small numbers at the same time as the ZIS-110 and was used as a state car. Today only 4 vehicles of this type remain.
description
Externally, the car differs from the civilian version only by an additional single fog light on the front bumper and a flag holder. The vehicles are otherwise identical, apart from the special safety equipment. This consists of steel armor 4.0 to 8.6 millimeters thick. The bullet-resistant glass is 75 millimeters thick and has been subjected to bullet tests. The window lifters work hydraulically due to the enormous weight of the windows. Safety chains on the doors prevent them from jumping open in the event of an accident. The equipment included air conditioning. The rear seats are upholstered with down. The front seats, on the other hand, have leather covers.
The car shape was based on the Packard 180 , but the vehicle is not a copy of the American car. The model was made a bit more modern by placing the spare wheels in the trunk and moving the running boards inside.
