history

The place originally only consisted of a courtyard. The subjects settled there were Jews. Originally, the Lords of Stiebar were wealthy in the village. Their claims were transferred to the Schlüsselau Monastery through exchange , as can be seen from the land register of the monastery from 1362. In 1434 the Nuremberg patrician Hans Rieter bought the homestead. In 1509 it came to the Nuremberg patrician Tetzel. In 1606 the farm consisted of two farmhouses and five other houses. In the middle of the 17th century, the Stiebar were again owned by the von Zeckern family, and at the beginning of the 18th century it came into the possession of the Winkler von Mohrenfels . Under Winkler’s peuplication policy , 14 drip goods were formed.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 28 properties in Zeckern (1 half courtyard , 3 goods, 14 drip goods , 9 drip houses). There was also a drip house that was used by the community. The high court exercised the Winklerische rule Hemhofen to a limited extent. If necessary, it had to be delivered to the Bamberg center forchheim . The rulership of Hemhofen held the village and community rulership as well as the land rulership over all properties.

In 1810 Zeckern came to the new Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the community edict , the place was assigned to the Röttenbach tax district formed in 1811 . With the second community edict (1818) the tax district and the rural community Hemhofen were formed, to which Zeckern belonged. On January 16, 1825, the Zeckern rural community was formed. It was subordinate to the regional court of Herzogenaurach in administration and jurisdiction and to the tax office in Erlangen (from October 1, 1847 in Herzogenaurach ). In the voluntary jurisdiction and local police, the place was subordinate to the patrimonial court Hemhofen (until 1848) From 1862 Zeckern was from the district office of Höchstadt an der Aisch (renamed in 1938 to the district of Höchstadt an der Aisch ) and further from the rent office Herzogenaurach (1920–1929: Finanzamt Herzogenaurach , from 1929: Erlangen Tax Office ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court of Herzogenaurach until 1879, 1880–1959 district court of Herzogenaurach , from 1959 district court of Erlangen . The municipality had an area of 2.395 km².

On July 1, 1971, Zeckern was incorporated into Hemhofen as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
