Sonic Rivals 2 is the sequel to the game Sonic Rivals, for the Playstation Portable video game console. The developer is Backbone Entertainment (who developed the first game), and is slated to be released towards the end of 2007. Sega has announced that Tails and two other new characters will be playable alongside Sonic, Knuckles, Shadow, Silver and Metal Sonic.

The story involves eight rivals that must work together to find the missing Chao, and the one who is behind all of it.[1]

Sega has announced that a Battle Mode will be available, featuring Knockout, Ring Battle, Race, King of the Hill, Capture the Chao, and Tag games. Sonic Rivals 2 will also feature Single Disc Sharing, where two people can play a multiplayer mode with just one disc, over a Wi-Fi Connection. There will also be an expanded Card System, going up to 150 cards being available.[2]
