Dusnok (Croatian: Dušnok) is a village in Bács-Kiskun county, in the Southern Great Plain region of southern Hungary.
Geography
It covers an area of 57.47 km2 (22 sq mi) and has a population of 3396 people (2005).
Demography
Population is consisted of Magyars and Croats.
Croats from Dusnok came to that area in 16th century from Slavonia. They speak Štokavian dialect of Croatian language, a Slavonian subdialect (Old-Shtokavian with non-reflected yat pronunciation). Similar dialectal features are seen today among population of Gradište near Županja and around Našice.
These Croats belong to special group of Danubian Croats: they call themselves as Raci. In literature they are also called racki Hrvati.[1]
