The Trip Day by Day

Arrival Day and Day 1 of the trip

The coach trip started in London where tour guide Brendan met the seven couples to start the trip. Once all had arrived the trip began its journey to Amsterdam. During the trip the travellers introduced themselves to each other. During the journey through the tunnel to Calais Jaki provided some musical entertainment. There over night stop was Bruges, Pete and Barbara who had never been abroad before enjoyed the food, as did Phil who admitted he didn’t like foreign food. Vegans Rob and Eva found finding food difficult. John got upset by people smoking at the table. The next morning they continued on their way to Amsterdam, as they crossed the border the coach trippers have a half hearted attempt at singing the Dutch national anthem. The first activity in Amsterdam was to a clog maker. Jaki decided to wear to pair for the rest of the day. The second activity was a trip on a canal boat. On the boat the travellers decided to have a sing song, which upset the captain of the boat. At the days vote John and Jaki received one vote and Rob and Eva , Marion and Phil , Steph and Joanne all received two votes each. These three had to leave the group and the rest decided who would be given the yellow card, and they decided Rob and Eva should be given yellow card.

Day 2

The day started with news that many of the travellers had spent last night in a coffee shop experimenting with the drugs on offer, apart from Rob and Eva who did not join the rest but spent the night at a bar, Eva became quite ill whilst on the coach to the days destination, Brussels. As they arrived in Brussels the travellers sang the Belgium National Anthem. When they arrived in Brussels Rob and Eva confronted Pete and Barbara over last nights vote. The first activity was a trip to a chocolate factory. The second activity was a trip to a Belgium Beer Brewery which the travellers did not enjoy. At the days vote Joanne and Steph, Tom and Max and John and Jaki all received one vote each but Rob and Eva received four votes and were given their second yellow card, followed by a red, meaning they had to leave the trip. Eva managed to upset one more person during the vote, saying that John had poor personal hygiene and that he could do with a shower.

Day 3

The day started with the younger travellers, Tom, Max, Emma and Sally, oversleeping and causing the coach to be late. On the way to the days destination, Koblenz, Brendan decided it would be useful for the travellers to learn some German phrases. After they arrived they had a traditional German lunch, although Phil tried to ask for egg and chips, but made do with a ham sandwich. After lunch they wondered down the bank of the Rhine. Phil had some interaction with some Germans, asking one charity worker whether they were a man or woman. The rest of the travellers went shopping for souvenirs. Before the next activity new couple Bob and Pasquale arrived. The next activity was a tour of a castle. The castle was on a hillside meaning a walk for the travellers, which was testing for Steph who arrived half an hour after the others. At the days vote Steph and Joanne, Tom and Max, Sally and Emma and Phil and Marion all received one vote each but John and Jaki received three votes and were given a yellow card. After dinner they all went to dinner where Phil admitted his preconceptions about German’s were wrong.

Day 4

The day started with news that Marion had an abscess so had to go and get some anti-biotics. On the way to Baden-Baden the travellers had to write a fairy story. Pasquale and Bob’s story cast John as the villain, fuelling the ill feeling between them, coming from Pasquale feeling John is homophobic. The first activity in Baden-Baden was a lesson on how to make Black Forest Gateaux. After seeing how it was made the group got to taste some. The afternoon’s activity was a trip to a spa where the travellers spent an afternoon unwinding. At a heated vote at the end of the day Tom and Max, Pasquale and Bob and Barbara and Pete all received one vote but John and Jaki received four votes and were given their second yellow card, followed by a red card, meaning they had to leave the trip. During the vote many travellers accused John of being unfair in his behaviour towards Pasquale and Bob, and Pete said that he had overheard John of calling Pasquale and Bob a derogatory name

Day 5

On the four hour coach trip to Munich Max and Sally relaxed with each other, with Sally giving him a foot massage. Pasquale felt much more at ease on the coach now that John had left. The whole coach also sang the German national anthem. After they had arrived on Munich the travellers went up the Olympic Tower to see a view of the city. Although Pasquale was disappointed that he could not see the coast as he was expecting, Brendan explained that the nearest coastline would be in Italy! Afterwards the coach was joined by Vander and Nicki, making Tom and Max’s wish of new girls come true. The girls did not endear themselves to Barbara, mistaking her for a man. The second activity was to a marketplace where some followed a guided tour whilst others went off on their own. Phil had a nice conversation with German lady despite not speaking each others languages. At the end of the afternoon they were able to watch the Glockenspiel Chimes. At the days vote Phil and Marion received one vote but Emma and Sally, Bob and Pasquale and Steph and Joanne all received two meaning all thee three couples with two votes then had to leave the group whilst the others decided who would be given the yellow card and they chose Steph and Joanne. After the vote Pasquale vowed to get rid of Emma and Sally, calling Sally a poisonous dwarf.

Day 6

The day started with Tom and Max complaining to Brendan about Nicki and Vander, but Nicki may have overheard them. Joanne was also caught breaking the hotels no smoking policy by Brendan who also walked in on Steph in a state of undress. The first activity in Salzburg was a trip to a salt mine where they had a tour of the mine and a fun trip down a slide. The afternoon’s activity was a Sound of Music tour around the city due to several scenes being filmed in the city, although Steph and Joanne did not take part. Brendan revealed that it was one of his favourite films and took great delight in re-enacting some of the famous scenes. At the days vote Bob and Pasquale voted for Emma and Sally, claiming they had chosen them from a hat randomly, which is against coach rules so they were told they must give a real reason. In total Emma and Sally received three votes but Nicki and Vander received four votes and were given a yellow card. Overall the vote was very heated with different travellers saying they did not trust either couple and left the younger travellers quite emotional. To lighten the mood Brendan took the group to Europe’s oldest restaurant which was holding a Mozart evening. Nicki and Vander particularly enjoyed the evening and were moved to tears by the music.

Day 7

The day started with Brendan and driver Chris disagreeing over how long it would take the coach to do the journey to Linz. On the journey Bob and Pasquale won a Sound of Music quiz, causing Phil to have a sulk as he thought he should have won and that Bob and Pasquale must have cheated. The coach arrived in Linz an hour earlier than planned causing more discussion between Brendan and Chris. The first activity was a cruise down the Danube. Bob was made honorary captain and was given a chance to steer the ship. Thee travellers enjoyed lunch on the boat. At lunch Tom tried to make an effort with Nicki and Vander but his friend Max was not interested in making an effort. In the afternoon they went to a Museum of the Future. At the museum there was a competition between Bob and Pasquale and Phil and Marion to settle the earlier dispute. The contest was on a toy race track which used noise made by the contestants to control the speed of the car. Pasquale and Bob won the game. Pasquale’s prize was a virtual flight over Linz. At the days vote Phil and Marion and Pete and Barbara each received one vote, Bob and Pasquale received two votes but Nicki and Vander received three votes and were given their second yellow card and a red card, meaning they had to leave the coach, which visibly upset them. Despite securing their exit Max had the cheek to ask Nicki on a date! At dinner the manager of the restaurant got on so well with Phil he laid on a special musical performance for the group.

Day 8

The day’s destination was Vienna. As the first activity of the day was a trip to the world’s oldest zoo the travellers played a game of animal charades and learnt the German names for animals they would be seeing. At the zoo Pasquale showed a unique talent of being able to talk to the different animals. Whilst going around the zoo Pete and Barbara tried to determine what animals other travellers were like, deciding Steph was a penguin, Bob was a bear, Phil was a camel and Pete was a polar bear. After lunch the travellers learnt how to make Apple Strudel, Austria’s most famous dessert. Emma was designated helper and Sally thought the chef fancied Emma. On the way to the afternoons destination Steph decided to take a nap, although it was not peaceful for the other passengers due to her snoring. The afternoon’s stop was to a fairground where they had a go-kart race; Phil lost again to Pasquale and blamed his go-kart. They then went on a Vienna’s famous Ferris wheel. Steph who was scared of height’s refused to go on, although Bob who has the same fear did make it onto the ride. On the ride Barbara reflected on what a great time she had been having on the coach trip, the first time she had ever left Britain. Due to the replacement couples flight being delayed there was only six couples at the days vote. Tom and Max received one vote but Joanne and Steph received four votes meaning they received their second yellow card, and a red card, meaning they had to leave the coach. As Joanne and Steph were the last couple to vote and their fate had been sealed they did not cast it. After the vote the new couple arrived, elderly friends Ellen and Rose, much to the disappointment of Tom and Max who had been hoping for more young girls.

Day 9

During the long trip from Vienna to Graz and travellers got to know Ellen and Rose, trying out Ellen’s hobby of sugar flower making. Before they got to Graz during lunch Sally had an argument with Brendan over ordering food which left Sally in tears. In Graz they visited a pumpkin seed oil mill and saw the production of this and also tasted pumpkin schnapps and the oil. Being told the seeds acted like Viagra some members got more interested, especially Tom! The second activity was a Nordic walk through vineyards with guide Christian. Some travellers did not see the point of using the walking sticks they were given. In the vineyards the group tried the grape except Phil who said he did not like grapes. After new couple friends Trevor and Paul joined the coach. The third activity is a wine tasting session at the vineyards, being shown how to properly taste wine. At the vote Pete and Barbara, and Bob and Pasquale received one vote each, Sally and Emma received two votes but Phil and Marion received three and were given a yellow card. Bob and Pasquale revealed they regretted voting for Phil and Marion as they would have liked to have voted for Sally and Emma but felt they couldn’t as they didn’t want to be seen picking on the girls.

Day 10

The day started with a sweepstakes as the travellers tried to guess where they were going. The destination was Ljubljana. The first activity was a guided tour through the centre of the city. Lunch at a traditional Slovenian restaurant proved difficult for Phil, as he did not like pasta. Brendan arranged some vegetable soup for him but he did not eat this either. The next trip of the day was to a stud farm to see the famous Lipizzaner horses in a display which got mixed reviews from the travellers. A talk by a guide afterwards left all bored; the traveller’s behaviour upset Brendan. At the days vote Pete and Barbara, Trevor and Paul, Sally and Emma and Max and Tom all received one vote each but Rose and Ellen received three votes which meant they received a yellow card. Phil went hungry again at dinner as he did not like the fish dish on offer.

Day 11

The day started well with the coach leaving on time on its way to Italy. On the trip Max, whose family is from Italy, gave each traveller an Italian name and led them in singing an Italian song. The day's destination was Venice The first activity was a guided tour of the city. For lunch the travellers had pizza, which did not make Phil very happy. The afternoon’s activity was a demonstration of mask making and after this the travellers got to dress up in traditional Venetian costumes, which Phil did not enjoy. Phil’s bad day in Venice continued when he found out he had to pay to use the toilet. After dressing up the next activity was a ride on the gondolas through the canals of Venice. After the ride Pasquale found out he had been a victim of practical joke from Paul and Trevor who had filled his new leather bag with rubbish. At the days vote Phil and Marion, Pete and Barbara and Ellen and Rose all received one vote each but Paul and Trevor recovered four votes and were given a yellow card.

Day 12

The day started badly for Max and Tom who had run up a large bar bill and the hotel would not let them go until they paid it. The boys did not have enough money so Brendan had to lend them the rest. The coach then made its' way to Bologna The first activity of the day was a lesson on how to make pasta at a cookery school where the travellers made their own lunch. Max won a trophy for the best chef. Phil refused to eat the Bolognese sauce provided by the school as he said it would make him ill! On the coach Phil upset some other travellers by saying there was nothing good about Italy and that he didn’t like Italians. The second activity was a trip to a Lamborghini museum. At the days vote Paul and Trevor and Tom and Max both received one vote each but Phil and Marion received five votes and were given their second yellow card and a red which meant they had to leave the coach.

Day 13

The day’s trip was to Orvieto and the first activity was a pizza making lesson. Max and Sally fell out when Max interfered when Sally was having trouble rolling their pizza. After they had made the pizzas new couple, friends Angela and Eden, arrived. Their lunch was the pizzas which they had just made. Angela and Eden’s eating habits did not go down well with Bob and Pasquale. The afternoon’s activity was wine tasting. Some travellers, including Ellen and Rose got quite merry. At the day’s vote Pete and Barbara received three votes but Ellen and Rose received four votes, meaning they received their second yellow card and a red, so they had to leave the trip. At dinner Max upset Pasquale by telling Tom to repeat a derogatory Italian word for homosexuals to Pasquale.

Day 14

The day started with Brendan having to investigate complaints from the hotel manager over the amount of noise Tom, Max, Sally and Emma had made during the night. The coach spent the day in Rome and the first activity was a tour of the Coliseum. Paul and Trevor showed off some unique under based on Michelangelo’s David! At lunch Sally caused a storm by throwing up after eating pasta topped with almonds, which she was allergic to. Sally claimed she did not know there were almonds on it but others said they thought she did it to get attention. The second activity of the day was a visit to the Trevi Fountain. As the new couple had not arrived yet to replace Ellen and Rose there were only six couples at the days votes, Tom and Max , Sally and Emma and Trevor and Paul all received one vote each but Eden and Angela received three votes and were given a yellow card.

Day 15

The day started with some of the travellers complaining that the hotel had lost their laundry. It was also revealed that Bob was suffering from constipation. The day’s trip was to Florence. On the way there the travellers met new couple, husband and wife Carol and Alan. It was also revealed by Brendan that the days vote would not be done in front of other travellers but would be anonymous. This upset Barbara and Pete but pleased Pasquale and Bob. The first activity of the day was an art lesson at an art studio where the travellers got to show off their artistic talents or lack of in some cases. In the second activity of the day the travellers were given the afternoon to go shopping in Florence. Pasquale used the time to try to get fellow travellers to vote for Emma and Sally at the days vote. Tom and Max upset the group by not getting to the meeting point at the correct time after getting lost. At the days anonymous vote Angela and Eden received three votes but Emma and Sally got four votes and were given a yellow card. The result led to hostility between some travellers, with Tom telling Pasquale that he knew he was up to something. Emma and Sally confronted Pasquale about the vote but Pasquale denied voting for them and said he voted for Tom and Max, whilst Bob said they voted for Angela and Eden revealing Pasquale’s lies.

Day 16

The morning started with Pasquale and Bob complaining to Brendan about the way others reacted to the vote last night, which Emma overheard. Eden woke up in the lobby after having too much to drink the previous night. The coach visited two towns during the day. The first stop was at Pisa where the travellers had to take pictures of them selves trying to hold up the leaning tower. Hostilities between the travellers continued, especially between Tom and Pasquale. Bob and Pasquale refused to take part in the activity at Pisa. The activity in Parma was a visit to a cheese factory. Tensions remained with Pasquale complaining that Pete was a puppet master and manipulating the younger contestants. At the days vote Eden and Angela received one vote but Bob and Pasquale and Tom and Max both received three votes each meaning they had to leave the circle and the others decided who to give the yellow card to. Bob and Pasquale were chosen to receive a yellow card. Pete was so furious during the vote whilst Bob and Pasquale were giving there reasons for their vote that he left the circle but not without shoving Pasquale in the head, Eden had already walked away because of the arguing.

Day 17

The day started with news from yesterday evening- Pete and Barbara saying they were leaving the trip, with Brendan saying they would have been red carded anyway. Eden and Angela also revealed they were leaving the trip because of all the arguing. Bob and Pasquale also left the coach because of the way they were treated by others, before they left Pasquale insulted Sally by saying she had no talent. Only four couples remained and they went to a new country, Switzerland, where they went to Lugano. The first activity was a tour of a Swiss chocolate factory; however they had to wait as a German tour group demanded to go in first! When they finally got in the travellers made the most of it, enjoying a lot of free chocolate. The next part of the day was spent at Lake Lugano where the travellers had lunch. Later in the day Brendan revealed there would be no vote that evening and that three new couples would be joining the trip tomorrow to replace those left.

Day 18

The day started with news that Alan had been taken to hospital with a collapsed lung the night before and had emergency surgery, which was successful. Alan and Carol had to leave the trip. After visiting Alan Brendan returned to the trip along with two new couples, cousins Thadie and Dorothy and friends, Nickie and Siobhan. The days desination was Turin The first activity of the day was a trip to see the Shroud of Turin at the Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist, although only the replica was on display. At lunch aunt and niece, Eileen and Lisa, joined the trip. After lunch the travellers visited some of Turin fashion shops. At the days vote Sally and Emma received one vote, Tom and Max received two votes but Paul and Trevor received three votes and were given their second yellow card and a red card which meant they had to leave the trip. After the vote the travellers went onto a restaurant and the retuned to the hotel bar. After a lot of alcohol Eileen, Lisa, Tom, Max, Sally and Emma returned to a room where Lisa made on impression on both boys by kissing both of them.

Day 19

The day started with the news that the hotel had complained about some of the drunken antics from the night before involving Tom and Max. Nickie and Siobhan and driver Chris also complained about their behaviour. As they had previous warning about their behaviour Brendan told Tom and Max they were being sent home. As the coach left for the days destination, St Veran, two new pairs were introduced, friends Winter and Suki, and husband and wife, Brian and Renee. Unfortunately the route the coach was taken had been closed due to heavy snow the night before, so the driver had to turn around and just head towards the nights hotel. Siobhan was very impressed with Chris’s driving around the mountains. During a rest from the journey Winter started a snowball fight. Brendan then tried to teach the travellers a bit of French, which Thadie resisted joining in with. At the days vote Thadie and Dorothy, Eileen and Lisa and Siobhan and Nickie all received one vote but Emma and Sally received three votes and received their second yellow card meaning they received a red card, meaning the last of the original seven couples had to leave the trip.

Day 20

On the way to the days destination, Monaco, Thadie tried to get other travellers to vote for the new couples which would see them go as soon as possible to ensure those already on the trips survival. However the plan was met with suspicion from other travellers. When they arrived in Monaco they found the weather was against them again as instead of expected nice weather it was raining in Monaco. As a reward for cleaning out the coaches toilets Chris the driver was able to drive the coach around the Monaco Grand Prix race track, whilst the travellers toured round Monaco in a tour train. Suki did not enjoy the tour and fell asleep. At lunch two new couples arrived, friends Jane and Michelle and mother and son Maggie and Paul. The afternoon’s activity was to have a look around a luxury yacht. Before the vote the five couples that had started the day planned it so that they would each give each other one vote, leaving the two new couples to decide who would be given a yellow card. At the days vote Brian and Renee, Suki and Winter, Eileen and Lisa and Thadie and Dorothy all received one vote each but Siobhan and Nickie received three votes and were given a yellow card. After the vote the five couples involved in the voting conspiracy met without knowledge of the other two couples to plan who would be given a yellow card tomorrow, however Jane and Michelle walked into the restaurant whilst this was going on and confronted them.

Day 21

It appeared that after a night’s sleep that the travellers had decided against Thadie’s plan, saying they should just vote for who they wanted to. Siobhan and Nickie revealed their dislike for both of the new couples which arrived yesterday. Nickie also revealed she was suffering from something wrong with her foot, so she missed out on the day’s trip as she was sent to see a doctor. The coach visited two destinations during the day. The first trip of the day was to an amphitheatre in Arles, where the men put on a gladiator show for the women. Winter was the most impressive gladiator and the girls chose him as the winner. During the trip to Nimes Jane and Michelle complained that Thadie had bad body odour. In Nimes the travellers went to an olive grove, where they learnt about the process of making olive oil. Chris the driver spent the time giving his coach a well earned wash. Nickie and Siobhan were not present so only six couples voted. Paul and Maggie received one vote but Thadie and Dorothy received five votes and were given a yellow card. After the vote the travellers went back to the hotel and tit was revealed that Nickie needed to go back home to rest her injury so both her and Siobhan left the trip. They refused to eat their last mean with the group after hearing about the days vote and left without saying goodbye.

Day 22

The day started with a seven hour drive to Andorra. During the drive the contestants played games and were given some stand up comedy from Winter, which did not go down very well, and from Brian, who went down a storm. Dorothy did not endear herself to the other passengers by refusing to talk to any of the other passengers and sleeping on the bus whilst others went out for rest stops. When they arrived in Andorra the travellers were taken to Europe’s largest spa where they experienced pools, rivers, hot tubs, plunge pools, accept for Thadie and Dorothy who sat out and just watched. In the spa there were signs that Winter and Lisa were getting more friendly with each other. Dorothy told Brendan she wanted to go home as she did not like any of the other travellers. At the days vote Paul and Maggie and Jane and Michelle each received one vote but Thadie and Dorothy received four votes and were given their second yellow card and a red card meaning they had to leave the trip. Thadie said his goodbyes but Dorothy just walked off. After the travellers had dinner Winter walked Lisa back to the hotel alone, fuelling rumours of a romance.

Day 23

The days trip was to Barcelona. On the way Winter and Lisa appeared to be getting on very well, although both denied there was nothing going on between them. The first stop was at Sagrada Família. After this two new pairs joined the coach, brothers Nathan and Gavin and friend Tracey and Debbie bringing the coach up to fourteen passengers again. The next activity was a Paella cooking lesson and the travelers made their own to see whose the best was. Winter’s team were the winners. During the activity it seemed that Winter had competition for Lisa’s affection from new contestant Gavin. After lunch the group had a walk through the streets of Barcelona, where Eileen had a caricature done of herself, which did not look anything like her. At the days vote Paul and Maggie received one vote and Lisa and Eileen received two votes but Winter and Suki received four votes and were given a yellow card. . The first activity Brendan gave a graphic description if what sort of injuries can be received during a bull fight, which upset those with weaker stomachs. A bull ring was the first stop of the day. Brendan decided to play a trick on the travelers whilst they were having a talk in the middle of the bull ring by having a fake bull charge at the first passengers, but only a few passengers were fooled. On the trip to the next stop Tracey decided to draw some surreal portraits of fellow passengers, although Renee did not like the one Tracey did of her. The second stop of the day was a demonstration of traditional Aragon music and dancing. Nathan and Gavin decided to join in and their showing off annoyed other passengers. Afterwards other passengers were actually invited to take part in some of the dancing. At the days vote Winter and Suki received one vote and Debbie and Tracey received two votes but Gavin and Nathan received four votes and were given a yellow card. Lisa left everyone wondering once again where her affections lay after she allowed Eileen to give their vote to Gavin and Nathan at the days vote and by leaving at the end of dinner with Winter.

Day 25

After some problems with the luggage and coach in the morning the coach made its way to the first destination La Rioja. The first stop was a tour of a wine museum. Gavin’s over the top behaviour again annoyed fellow passengers. After the museum there was a wine tasting lesson. Paul decided to join in Gavin’s over the top behaviour which embarrassed Brendan. During lunch the passengers enjoyed a large amount of free wine but slept it off on the coach on the way to the next destination Bilbao where they visited the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao. Tracey and Lisa enjoyed looking at the art but others found the modern art confusing. The days vote was held on the coach. Jane and Michelle, Brian and Renee and Gavin and Nathan received one vote each but Debbie and Tracey received four votes and were given a yellow card. Whilst voting Gavin and Nathan argued with Debbie and Tracey over the voting.

Day 26

The day’s trip was to San Sebastian. Due to poor weather in the morning the planned excursion to the beach was cancelled so instead they went to a local aquarium. During the activity Winter’s and Lisa’s relationship was brought out into the open. The afternoon’s activity was planned to be a trip to a funfair but due to the bad weather so the travelers were given a choice between going shopping or going to a spa, those who chose shopping managed to get lost. Whilst shopping other girls decided to give Debbie a makeover. At the days vote Gavin and Nathan and Lisa and Eileen each received one vote, Jane and Michelle received two votes but Brian and Renee received three votes and were given a yellow card. After the vote Debbie under went her make over with a haircut from Paul and make up and fashion help from the girls.

Day 27

On the way to France the travelers sang the French national anthem, apart from Suki who was asleep as usual. The first activity was a surfing lesson in Biarritz, so the travelers donned their wet suits and headed to the ocean. After some basic instruction they had ago at trying it for themselves. Gavin, who has surfed before and was very confident, went further out to sea to find bigger waves, which he was unsuccessful in riding. After lunch the coach headed to Bordeaux. Tracey and Winter were given prizes for being the best surfers earlier in the day. In Bordeaux the travelers visited a chateau to do some more wine tasting. At the days vote Lisa and Eileen received one vote, Jane and Michelle received two votes but Paul and Maggie received four votes and were given a yellow card. Paul was annoyed that Suki and Winter voted for them as they thought Maggie was getting tired, Paul responded by saying that despite Suki being a lot younger than Maggie that he had been asleep more than anyone.

Day 28

The day’s destination was Poitiers. The first activity of the day was to an animal park where Gavin and Nathan annoyed the other travelers yet again with their incessant questioning of tour guides. On the way to the afternoon activity Chris the driver had an argument with Brendan when Brendan announced how long it would take to get there and Chris told him not to give incorrect information. The afternoon’s activity was a tour of a local chateau. At the day’s vote Winter and Suki received one vote, Gavin and Nathan received two but Jane and Michelle received four votes and were given a yellow card, much to Nathan and Gavin’s delight.

Day 29

At the start of the day it was revealed that driver Chris had apologized to Brendan for snapping at him the previous day. The days destination was Paris where the travelers donned berets and went on a river boat for a trip down the river. Gavin and Nathan were convinced they were the most French of all the passengers. Yet again Suki put a dampener on events by refusing to wear a beret. For lunch they were able to sample local cuisine, including Escargot. The days vote was held in front of the Eiffel tower and instead of voting for a couple they wanted to leave the trip they were voting for a couple they thought deserved to win a holiday, an extended stay in Paris. Jane and Michelle and Winter and new girlfriend Lisa received one vote each, Brian and Renee received two votes but Paul and Maggie received three votes and won the holiday.

Day 30: The Last Day

The travelers left their hotel at 9:30 to begin their trip to London. Once they had got through the Channel Tunnel the travelers carried on the tradition of singing national anthems, joining in during God Save the Queen. On the way back Brendan revealed his favourite couple were Pete and Barbara, as they got more out of it than any other couple. His favourite activity was painting class in Florence, due to Eden and Angela’s lack of talent. The coach finished its 5500 mile journey in West London with a round of applause for driver Chris.

The Trip Day by Day

Arrival Day and Day 1 of the trip

All the contestants were greeted at Madrid airport by tour guide Brendan and they then went to their hotel where they got to know each other. On the first evening the youngsters in the group were drinking heavily and Alan performed a strip tease in front of the fellow coach trippers. The next morning Brendan had to warn them about their behavior, noting this was not an 18 to 30 holiday. The coach trippers were taken on an open topped bus tour of Madrid and then had a tour of Real Madrid's Bernabeu stadium. At the vote at the end of the day Alan and Lorenzo received two votes, Connie and Betty also received two votes, but Paul and Heidi received three votes which meant they received a yellow card.

Day 2

Day 2 began with the news that Irene had felt ill over night and would have to see a doctor, so her and husband John did not go on the day's trip. The rest of the coach trippers were taken to the town of Segovia. In the morning they were taught how to cook a local dish. In the afternoon they had a tour of the Alcázar. In the days vote Kat and Clare received one vote, Eileen and Lan received one vote, Alan and Lorenzo received two votes and Connie and Betty received three votes, meaning they received a yellow card. John and Irene were allowed to cast their vote over the phone despite not taking part in the day's trip.

Day 3

The day started with the news that due to Irene still not feeling well her and John would be leaving the trip. Brendan was annoyed with Clare and Kat and John and Kerry for oversleeping but the coach was delayed due to John and Irene's departure. The morning in Salamanca was spent learning how to make traditional Castilian Pottery. In the afternoon they were given a Spanish lesson. In the day's vote Kerrie and John received one vote, Alan and Lorenzo received one vote, Clare and Kat received one vote and Paul and Heidi received three votes, which meant they received their second yellow card, followed by a red card.

Day 4

The day began with news that Lorenzo had left one of his shoes in the hotel they had stayed at in Madrid. The coach trippers made their way across the border to Portugal, going to the town of Monfortinho. There they enjoyed a couple of hours at a spa. Clare also received news of her university exam results from home, with her receiving an Upper Second degree. Brendan also received news that the Madrid hotel had found Lorenzo's shoe. The group then had a jeep ride up a mountain, to a restaurant where they would be eating dinner. At the day's vote Brendan revealed that they would not be voting for who they want to leave the trip but instead who they thought deserved to receive a night in a luxury hotel suite. Betty and Connie received one vote, but Alan and Eileen received four, meaning they received the night in the suite.

Day 5

The day began with an argument between Clare and Brendan after some confusion about departure times. Two new couples arrived to replace those which had left, these were Bill and Ray, and Jackie and Phil. The day's trip was to Tomar. In Tomar they visited a castle. In the afternoon they had an archery lesson, followed by a competition, which was won by Connie and Betty. Their prize was supposed to be breakfast in bed served by Brendan, however this would depend on them surviving the days vote. At the vote Kat and Clare received one vote, Alan and Lorenzo received two votes and Connie and Betty received four votes. This meant they received a red card.

Day 6

The day started with Brendan serving Phil and Jackie breakfast in bed, at the request of Connie and Betty who could not take the prize they won the previous day. The day's trip was to Lisbon. Firstly they visited the Lisbon Oceanarium. In the afternoon they enjoyed a port wine tasting session aboard a tram and then had a tile painting lesson. At the day's vote Bill and Rae received one vote, John and Kerrie received one vote, Alan and Eileen received one vote and Phil and Jackie received three votes meaning they received a yellow card. They had predicted this earlier as the new couples feel the old couples are plotting to vote them off. After the vote new couple Joe and Marlon arrived. Brendan, tired of the coach trippers continuously arriving late in the mornings gave an explicit warning that anyone late the next morning would automatically receive a yellow card.

Day 7

The day started with Brendan waiting at the coach to see whether all the contestants would reach the coach by 7:30am. John and Kerrie did not turn up. Brendan went to their hotel room and delivered a yellow card, as promised. The day's trip was to Faro. In the morning they received a golf lesson, although this was delayed as several contestants were not dressed according to the dress code. In the afternoon they spent time at a water park. Joe had to go to the medical centre at the park as he suffered from dehydration. At the day's vote Bill and Rae received one vote, Clare and Kat received two votes and Phil and Jackie received four votes, meaning they received a red card.

Day 8

The day began with the news that not only was Joe still feeling unwell from the day before but that Kerrie was also suffering from sunstroke. Both of these missed the days trip to Lagos. In Lagos the coach trippers went on a boat trip out at sea, where they swam amongst the coves. Brendan, who suffers from sea sickness in small boats did not join them but instead had a break from the group with driver Paul. On the coach an argument from the day before, concerning the youngsters flirty behavior at the water park upsetting Bill and Rae was dragged up again. At the afternoon's stop the group went in four by fours up to a distillery where they drank fire water. At the vote Joe and Marlon received one vote and Bill and Rae received five votes and received a yellow card. Bill and Rae accused the original coach trippers of plotting against Phil and Jackie and now against themselves and predicted they would receive a red card tomorrow.

Day 9

The day started with new passengers Dave and Di joining the coach. It was revealed that the previous night Lorenzo had woken up the new couple at 12:30am doing impressions of Brendan at their door, and had then rung them up twice in the middle of the night. Whilst on their way to Seville the coach had to stop whilst the toilet was fixed. The morning's trip was a tour of the Alacazar, where Joe annoyed several people with his puppet, Freddy. Lunch was a Tapas tour. During lunch Joe and Clare had an argument as Joe believes Clare has been looking down her nose at Joe and Marlon. Joe called Clare a little girl and Clare was left in tears. Alan and Eileen sided with Clare calling Joe's behavior disgraceful. The Tapas tour was stopped short due to the argument. At the vote Joe and Marlon received one vote, Alan and Eileen received one vote, Alan and Lorenzo received two votes and Bill and Rae received three votes meaning they received a red card.

Day 10

The day started with the news that the voting pact which had existed, with the original coach trippers voting off newer couples, appeared to be breaking down. Joe was very upset at Alan for voting for him and Marlon the previous night and accused Alan of trying to control the group. The day's trip was to Jerez. The first stop was to a honey farm where the group donned protective clothing and got up close with some bees and then tasted some honey. Kerry was less keen as she has a phobia of bees. The second stop was a sherry tasting activity where several coach trippers had too much too drink. At the day's vote Dave and Di, Alan and Eileen and Joe and Marlon all received two votes. As there was a tie the three other couples had to decide between them who would receive the deciding vote. They decided Alan and Eileen should be given a yellow card.

Day 11

The day started with new couple Ivor and Andrea joining the coach. Almost immediately they were approached by Joe to help him vote off Alan and Eileen. The day's trip saw the coach trippers return to British soil as they visited Gibraltar, singing God Save the Queen as they entered. They took a cable car to the top of the rock to see the views of Gibraltar and the Barbary Apes. John was getting on well with one of the apes until he was bitten. A local tour guide called Angel had joined the tour for the day and irritated Brendan by taking charge of the trips. Brendan was most put out as he saw Angel as being local whilst he was international. The second stop was to HMS York where they were given a tour of the ship. At the day's vote Joe and Marlon received one vote, Di and Dave received one vote but Alan and Eileen received five votes so were given a red card.

Day 12

As the day's trip involved going to Africa the coach trippers had to wake up early. However there was a slight delay as the coach had a flat battery caused by the lights being left on over night. Paul the driver fixed the problem and they went on their way to the ferry port where they went on a ferry to Tangier. Clare tried to make peace with Joe after their arguments over the previous few days but Joe was not interested. In Tangiers they went to a market where they practiced their haggling skills. They then had a traditional Moroccan lunch followed by a belly dance. Ivor, Dave and Alan all joined in with their own belly dances. At the day's vote Joe and Marlon received one vote, Di and Dave received two votes and Clare and Kat received three votes which earned them a yellow card.

Day 13

The day's first trip was to a private beach in Marbella. There the coach trippers enjoyed a morning trying out jet skis and pedalows. Alan and Lorenzo managed to turn over their jet ski, leaving them in the water. Brendan also spent time in the water, after Clare pushed him off of his pedalow. At lunch a new couple, Doris and Ann joined the trip. It was also revealed that Kat and Alan may have become more than friends. In the afternoon they visited Mijas where most of the group had a donkey ride through the town. Brendan took the opportunity to meet up with some of his friends. At the day's vote Di and Dave received three votes and Kat and Clare received four votes and were given a red card. Although they were then no longer part of the coach trip their flight home was not until the next day and they found out where the coach trippers were staying and had one final night with their friends on the trip.

Day 14

The day started with the consequences of the night before. The late night of partying of Alan, Lorenzo, Clare and Kat had finished in the early hours of the morning with the youngsters upsetting other guests with the noise they made. Alan and Kat spent the night in the same room and by morning Alan said he would rather leave the coach than leave Kat. As Lorenzo and Alan showed no interest in joining the day's trip and were delaying the other coach trippers Brendan gave them a red card. The days trip to Granada was further delayed after they were stuck in a traffic jam due to an accident further up the motorway. They were finally able to make a u-turn and join a different route, allowing them to reach Granada six hours late. The only stop of the day was to some Moorish Baths, where they were able to relax after the stresses of the morning. As the group was now down to just five couples Brendan decided the night's vote would be for a prize of two tickets to a gypsy night. Doris and Ann and Kerrie and John received one vote each but Di and Dave received three votes, meaning they won the night out.

Day 15

The day started with a new couple, Paul and Joy joining the coach. The day's trip was to Almería. As the area was home to the filming of many western firms Brendan decided the coach trippers should give each other cowboy names. This caused problems between Kerrie and Andrea after Kerrie gave Andrea the name of "Acting" Andrea. There had been problems in the previous days between the two after Andrea voted for Kerrie's friends Clare and Kat. Claiming she was missing her daughter Kerie asked other coach trippers to vote for her and John at the vote later in the day. The day's stop was to a wild west theme park where the group watched stage fights and had a go at it themselves. In the afternoon they went to the park's zoo and watched a parrot show. At the day's vote Ivor and Andrea received one vote but John and Kerrie received five votes and were given a red card, meaning the original seven couples had now left. After the vote arguments between Kerrie and Andrea continued. Andrea then turned on Joe who had tried to stop the arguments. In the heat of the argument Joe told Brendan he wanted to get off the trip, although he was still on the coach at the end of the day.

Day 16

The day started with new couple Jess and Becky joining the coach. The day's trip was to Benidorm. First they had a water skiing lesson then were able to have a go at Benidorm's cable skiing. Older members Doris and Joy did not take part, instead they chose to go shopping. The days fun turned to misery for Joe as he had gone skiing with £500 in his pockets and he lost all the money in the sea. Despite Brendan organising a search party the money was not found. To increase Joe's agony his glove puppet Freddie also went missing and was presumed lost at sea. To mark Joe's loss a minutes silence was held. At the day's vote Di and Dave received one vote, Ivor and Andrea received two votes and Joe and Marlon received three votes and were given a yellow card. After the vote Andrea and Marlon had an argument over the way Andrea had treated Kerrie the previous day.

Day 17

The day's trip was to Ibiza which needed a two hour ferry ride from the mainland. New couple Victoria and Jackson joined the coach. The day's first stop was a DJ mixing lesson with Brandon Block and Andy B. Doris was chosen as star DJ and was given the name DJ Doris. The afternoon's stop was to a yoga lesson. At the vote Ivor and Andrea and Doris and Ann both received one vote, and Joe and Marlon received five votes and were given a red card.

Day 18

The day started with new couple Paul and Tim joining the coach. The days trip was to Tarragona. The first stop was to the theme park Port Aventura where some of the group rode the roller coasters, including Dragon Khan. This left Ann and Brendan feeling sick. Dave went on the roller coasters despite claiming he has been suffering from a serious balance problem in the last year, which made Andrea suspect he has not been ill at all. The second half of the day was a guided tour through the city. Some members of the group made Brendan angry as they chatted through the guides talks about the various parts of the city, and was annoyed with Becky leaving the group to use her mobile phone. At the day's vote Jackson and Victoria and Becky and Jess both received two votes but Di and Dave received three votes and were given a yellow card. There was friction during the vote after Becky and Jess said Dave was boring. Dave and Di's main problem was with Andrea and Ivor though. Andrea and Ivor want to get Dave and Di off the coach as they see them as part of the old alliance. Dave and Di promised to vote for Andrea and Ivor the next day for the reason they simply do not like them. The day ended with Paul taking it up the wrong un.

Day 19

The day's trip saw the coach travel to Perpignan, France. On their way the coach trippers were given a quiz on what they had learnt in Spain. The winners would receive immunity at the nights vote and the losers would lose their right to nominate at the vote. Andrea and Ivor were the winners, which ruined Di and Dave's plans to vote them off. The losers were Doris and Ann. In Perpignan the group were given a rugby union lesson on the beach and then had a rugby union match. Paul, of Paul and Tim, left the match because he felt Dave was taking the game too seriously and then plotted with Andrea who did not play to vote off Di and Dave. The second stop of the day was to a Chateaux where they enjoyed a wine tasting afternoon. At the days' vote Jackson and Victoria, Paul and Tim and Jess and Becky all received one vote, but Di and Dave received three votes and were given a red card. Andrea and Ivor then revealed their next target was Jackson and Victoria.

Day 20

The day's trip was to Montpellier. The first stop of the day was a cookery lesson in French cuisine, however the Michelin Star twin chefs which had been booked were on holiday so their sous chef took the class instead. Jackson and Vicotia's behavior during the lesson annoyed the rest of the group. The groups lunch was the food they made, but they had not made much and were complaining of being hungry so Brendan had to go to a shop to buy sandwiches. The second stop of the day was a unique type of jousting involving boats. The girls representative won after he knocked the boys representative off the boat and into the water. At the day's vote Paul and Tim received one vote and Jackson and Victoria received five votes and were given a yellow card. After the vote Andrea and Ivor promised to complete their mission of voting off Jackson and Victoria the next day.

Day 21

The day started with the news that Victoria and Jackson did not want to continue with the trip as they knew they would be eliminated at the days vote. As they were refusing to go on the day's trip and were holding up the coach Brendan gave them a red card (in fact they were both very badly hungover!). The announcement of their departure was greeted with cheers from the rest of the group. New couple Chandra and Vina then joined the trip. The days trip was to Marseille where the group went horse riding through the Camargue. The coach trippers had a lot of difficulty controlling their horses. After this devastating news from home arrived when the group learned of the 7 July 2005 London bombings which had happened earlier in the day. The day's trip was immediately cancelled as was the day's vote. The rest of the day saw an emotional group trying to ring home to see if their friends and family were safe. Brendan said anyone who felt they could no longer continue travelling could leave the trip. Jess and Becky, whose businesses were affected by the bombings, decided to leave the trip. Brendan announced that the trip would continue as normal the next day.

Day 22

The day started with the group waving goodbye to Becky and Jess. The day's trip was to Sainte-Maxime. The guest guide for the day was hometown hero David Ginola. The day consisted of a tour of the bay in a boat and relaxation on the beach. Paul, of Paul and Tim, accused Brendan of fawning over Ginola, however Brendan said Paul was just jealous. Whilst the group relaxed on the beach Brendan had to go back to the restaurant where they had lunch to collect Vina's phone which she left there. Finally the group enjoyed a game of beach football with Ginola. At the day's vote Tim and Paul received one vote but Ivor and Andrea received four votes and were given a yellow card. It was then revealed that they had asked to be voted for as they wish to leave but do not want to pay for their flight home, which they would have to do if they simply quit the coach.

Day 23

The day began with Brendan giving Ivor and Andrea a red card for manipulating the previous day's vote. He told them that plotting to leave the trip at a certain time as they had done was not in the spirit of the show. Two new couples then joined the coach, Mary and Jamie, and Matt and Scott. The days trip was to Grasse. The first stop of the day was to a perfumery where the coach trippers made their own perfumes. The host went around smelling their efforts, but Paul and Tim plotted to play a prank on him by putting some of Doris' smelling salts in theirs. The second stop of the day was to an art gallery where the group did their own paintings on steel and used a press to produce them. At the day's vote Paul and Tim received two votes and Chandra and Vina received four votes and were given a yellow card.

Day 24

The day began with new couple Dennis and Jackie joining the coach. The day's trip saw the coach leave France and go to the town of Portofino in Italy. On the way there the coach trippers learned some Italian phrases. They were unable to take the coach into Portofino as the streets are too narrow, so instead they went on sail boats. The coach trippers were split into two teams, one on each boat. They then raced the boats across the bay. Brendan's boat won, despite losing a sail halfway through. In Portofino the winning team was presented a trophy. Paul, of Paul and Tim, who was on the losing side, was not gracious in defeat. At the day's vote Joy and Paul, Matt and Scott and Paul and Tim all received one vote but Vina and Chandra received four votes and were given a red card.

Day 25

The day did not start well with the news that the hotel's breakfast was not up to the standard usually expected on coach trip and also that Tim had lost his passport. The day's trip was to Lucca. The first stop was at Pinocchio Park. This bored most of the coach trippers and was described as being like "watching paint dry" and as the "low point of the trip". At lunch Paul, of Paul and Tim, had an upset stomach, and made sure everyone else knew about it, which upset the rest of the group. Due to the stressful nature of the day a walking tour of Lucca was cancelled, instead they spent time relaxing at the beach, apart from Tim who had to go to the police to sort out his passport. At the vote Dennis and Jackie, and Scott and Matt received one vote each but Paul and Tim received four votes and were given a yellow card. Later that night new couple John and Kelly arrived.

Day 26

As the coach trip reached its final week the day's trip was to Maranello. The first stop of the day wasto a Go Kart track where the boys and girls both had a race. The girls race was won by Mary. The boys race was won by Matt. The days lunch was a difficult one. Firstly it was announced by Brendan that the days vote would be anonymous, so no-one would know who voted for who. Secondly Matt, Scott and Dennis had a loud arguemt about the food. The afternoons stop was a tour of a Ferrari museum. The group were even allowed to sit in a classic car. At the day's anonymous vote Jamie and Mary received one vote, Dennis and Jackie received two votes but Doris and Ann received four votes and were given a yellow card.

Day 27

The day began with the news that driver Paul had found Tim's lost passport whilst he was cleaning the coach. The day's trip was to Modena. The first stop was a tour of a Balsamic vinegar farm where they were shown how the vinegar is made. They then tasted the vinegar on its own and with ice cream. The afternoons activity was an opera singing lesson. Not everyone enjoyed the lesson. Matt and Scot were told off for not taking the lesson seriously, John was not at all interested, and Paul, of Paul and Tim, was asked to leave by the teacher for mucking about. At the day's vote Doris and Ann, and Paul and Joy received one vote each, but John and Kelly received five votes and were given a yellow card.

Day 28

The day began with news that John and Kelly no longer wished to continue on the trip and would be flying home. The day's trip was to Verona. The days first stop was to the commissioner of tourism's office in the Scaliger palace. It is so rare for tourists to be allowed in the palace that the trip made it onto the local TV news. At the palace they used the balcony to view across to what is believed to be Romeo's house. The next stop was to what is believed to be Juliet's balcony, where some of the couples shared a romantic kiss, as well as Brendan and Paul, of Paul and Tim! The next stop was a Tortellini cooking lesson with Paul, of Paul and Tim, leading a group and Brendan leading another. Both teams resorted to cheating to try and win. Paul bribed the kitched staff to give him some pasta they had already made, and Brendan used a pasta machine instead of handmaking it. Both plots foulled though as the judge revealed he knew of the cheating and declared a draw. At the day's vote Mary and Jamie received one vote and Matt and Scott received five votes and were given a yellow card. Jamie and Mary plus Paul and Joy were extremely annoyed at Matt and Scott pressuring them before the previous day's vote.

Day 29

The day's trip and the final destination of the trip was to Milan. The morning's activities were taking photographs of the famous sights of Milan and an hours shopping in the designer stores of the city. The afternoon's activity was a visit to a fashion house where they learned how to be models and walk the catwalk. They then took part in their own fashion show. The day's vote was for the prize of staying on in Milan for a short holiday after everyone else goes home. Mary and Jamie, Doris and Ann, Dennis and Jackie, and Matt and Scott all received one vote each but Paul and Joy received two votes and won the holiday in Milan.

Day 30: The Last Day

The final morning saw the rest of the group wave goodbye to Paul and Joy who remained in Milan for the winners holiday. The rest of the group made their way to Milan airport. On the coach Jackie sang a song she had written about the trip, and Paul the driver was given a round of applause for all his hard work. Brendan revealed his favourite parts of the trip. His favourite couples were Irene and John, Ann and Doris, Connie and Betty, John and Kerry and Paul and Tim. His favourite cities were Salamanca and Seville. His highlight of the trip was the day spent with David Ginola. At the airport everyone had to say their goodbyes, as after over 3000 miles, six countries and 44 passengers the coach trip was over.
