Follingbo is a settlement on the Swedish island of Gotland. Formerly a socken,[3] On 1 January 2016, it was reconstituted into the administrative area Follingbo District.[4][5]

The most distinguishing feature in Follingbo is the 260 m (850 ft) high Follingbo Mast. It became operational on 24 December 1959, and has since then been used for broadcasting television and radio to all of Gotland.[6][7]

Geography

Follingbo is the name of the small village surrounding the medieval Follingbo Church,[8] sometimes referred to as Follingbo kyrkby. The name is also used for the larger surrounding area, Follingbo socken. It is situated in the west part of Gotland, just east of Visby.[9]
