Óscar (born June 28, 1998 in Talavera de la Reina ; full name Óscar Rodríguez Arnaiz ) is a Spanish football player . He is under contract with Sevilla FC and is a Spanish U21 international .

Óscar started playing football at CD Los Navalmorales before joining Real Madrid's youth team in 2009 . From then on he went through all junior teams there. With the A-Jugend (U19) he played 25 times in the UEFA Youth League in the 2015/16 , 2016/17 and 2017/18 seasons , scoring 5 goals. For the 2017/18 season, Óscar moved up to the second team . He came in his first season in the men's area on 34 missions (33 times from the start) in the third-rate Segunda División B , in which he scored 6 goals. In November 2017, Óscar also played in the first team in the Copa del Rey under head coach Zinédine Zidane when he was in the starting line-up in the 2-2 draw against third division club CF Fuenlabrada .

For the 2018/19 season, Óscar switched to CD Leganés on loan for an initial year . There he established himself under the head coach Mauricio Pellegrino as a regular player and came to 31 missions (29 times from the start) in the Primera División , in which he scored 4 goals. After the successful year for Óscar and the club, which after two years in the highest risk of relegation, had finished 14th in midfield in 17th place, the loan was extended for the 2019/20 season. In his second season Óscar came to 30 league appearances (22 times from the start), in which he scored 9 goals. Nevertheless, the CD Leganés was relegated to the Segunda División as 18th on the last day of the match .

For the 2020/21 season, Óscar moved to Sevilla FC . He signed a contract with the reigning Europa League winner until June 30, 2025.

National team

Óscar participated with the Spanish U17 national team in the U17 European Championship 2015 in Bulgaria . He was substituted on in all 4 games of his team. Then Óscar played in the U19 and U20 selection .

Óscar has been active in the U21 team since September 2019 .
