Ľubiša (German Lubische , Hungarian Szerelmes until 1907 Lyubis [s] e ) is a municipality and a town in the Okres Humenné ( Prešovský kraj ) in the east of Slovakia , with a population of 816 (as of December 31, 2019).
geography
The municipality is located at the southern end of the Ondavská vrchovina mountain range on the left side of Laborec , 10 kilometers north of Humenné .
history
Ľubiša was first mentioned in writing in 1410 as Libise , but the settlement probably existed before the 13th century. Like many other places in the area, the place was owned by the Drugeth family and thus part of the Humenné estate. In 1828 there were 77 houses and 513 residents. The main sources of income were agriculture and handicrafts.
