Lackovce (Hungarian Lácfalva ) is a municipality in the east of Slovakia with 799 inhabitants (December 31, 2019), which for Okres Humenné of, a circle kraj Prešovský heard. Rather, it is part of the traditional Zemplín landscape .
geography
The municipality is located in the southern part of the Lower Beskids between the Laborec and Cirocha rivers , just before the confluence. The center of the village is at an altitude of 157 m nm and is four kilometers from Humenné .
Neighboring communities are Kochanovce in the north, Kamenica nad Cirochou in the east, Hažín nad Cirochou in the south and Humenné in the west.
history
Lackovce was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1317 as Laczafalva , according to older sources only in 1451 as Laaczfalwa , and was part of the dominion of Humenné. In 1598 there were seven farmhouses. In the 18th century the village was owned by the Csáky family and in the 19th century by the Szirmay family . In 1828 there were 47 houses and 345 inhabitants who were employed as farmers and weavers.
Until 1918/1919, the place in Semplin County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.
From 1971 to 1998 Lackovce was part of Humenné.
population
According to the 2011 census, Lackovce had 600 inhabitants, 553 of whom were Slovaks , nine Russians , five Ukrainians and one German , one Magyar , Russian and Czech . Two residents indicated a different ethnic group and 27 residents gave no information about the ethnic group .
432 residents committed to the Roman Catholic Church, 84 residents to the Greek Catholic Church, 15 residents to the Orthodox Church, six residents to the Jehovah's Witnesses, four residents to the Evangelical Church AB and one resident to the Pentecostal movement; five residents professed a different denomination. 23 residents had no denomination and the denomination of 30 residents was not determined.
