Hažín nad Cirochou (until 1948 Slovak "Hažín"; Hungarian Kisgezsény - until 1907 Hazsina ) is a municipality in the east of Slovakia with 675 inhabitants (December 31, 2019), which for Okres Humenné , a circle of kraj Prešovský belongs.

geography

The municipality is located in the valley of the river Cirocha at an altitude of 167  m nm , five kilometers from Humenné .

history

The place was first mentioned in writing in 1317. Until that year it belonged to the royal estate, then until the 17th century it was under the rule of the Drugeth family . In 1828 there are 77 houses and 588 inhabitants.

1966–1990 Hažín nad Cirochou was part of the municipality of Kamenica nad Cirochou .
