(3919) Maryanning is an asteroid located in the inner main belt . It was discovered on February 23, 1984 by the Belgian astronomer Henri Debehogne at the La Silla Observatory of the European Southern Observatory in Chile ( IAU code 809). There had been several sightings of the asteroid before: on October 1, 1962 under the provisional designation 1962 TB and July 29, 1965 (1965 OB) at the Goethe Link Observatory in Indiana and on May 9, 1978 (1978 JZ 2 ) on Crimean Observatory in Nautschnyj .
The mean diameter of the asteroid was calculated to be 4.784 (± 0.194) kilometers and the albedo to be 0.194 (± 0.033).
The Italian astronomer Vincenzo Zappalà defined in a publication from 1995 (et al.) That (3919) Maryanning belonged to the Amneris family, named after (871) Amneris , a small subgroup of the Flora family defined by him. The Flora Group is a large group of asteroids named after (8) Flora . Asteroids of this family move in a 4: 9 orbital resonance with the planet Mars around the sun . The group is also called the Ariadne family, after the asteroid (43) Ariadne .
(3919) Maryanning was named on May 4, 1999 after the English fossil collector Mary Anning (1799-1847). As early as 1991, a collection of flat volcanoes on the northern hemisphere of the planet Venus was named after Mary Anning: Anning Paterae .
