The 2012/13 season of the 2nd women's volleyball division was the thirty-seventh edition of this competition. It started on September 22, 2012 and ended on April 13, 2013.
Master of the 2011/12 season was VT Aurubis Hamburg II , a newly promoted to the 1. Bundesliga but there was not. Bayer Leverkusen were added as relegated from the 1st Bundesliga. The women from Rotation Prenzlauer Berg withdrew to the 3rd League North . TV Werne also had to move into the third division , while DSHS SnowTrex Cologne (formerly FCJ Cologne) rose from the Regionalliga West. The team from 1. VC Parchim started this season as Schweriner SC II. As usual, VC Olympia Berlin had special game rights .
