Adam Friedrich von Jeetze

Adam Friedrich von Jeetze (born August 26, 1689 at Gut Flessow ; † August 10, 1762 at Gut Poritz ) was a Prussian lieutenant general , chief of infantry regiment No. 17 and knight of the Pour le Mérite . He was Amtshauptmann of Mühlenhof and Muehlenbeck and hereditary lord on Poritz, Büst and Jeetze.

Life

His parents were the Kurbrandenburger Kornet Adam Friedrich von Jeetze († March 2, 1717) and Hedwig Elisabeth von Eichstedt († March 10, 1739) from the house of Eichstedt. The Major General Hans Christoph von Jeetze was his brother.

Military career

Jeetze joined the "Margrave Philipp Wilhelm" regiment No. 12 at the beginning of 1708 as a flag junior . He fought in the Netherlands until 1712. In 1713 he became an ensign in the infantry regiment "Kamencke" No. 23 and fought in the Pomeranian campaign in 1715/16 . He was there on August 21, 1715 when the Peenemünder Schanzen were attacked. He then became a second lieutenant . On November 15, he landed with the troops on the island of Rügen and was then present at the siege of Stralsund .

In 1721 he became Premier Lieutenant and Regimental Adjutant. He was now traveling around the country as a recruiter . On July 10, 1723 the king appointed him captain of the staff and gave him a company . On May 29, 1734 he became major and received the Order de la Generosite , as he did important business for the king. The new King Frederick II awarded him the order Pour le Mérite in 1740 and promoted him to lieutenant colonel on February 2, 1741 . On April 10, 1741 he was in the battle of Mollwitz and in October at the siege of Neisse fortress. In the following year 1742 in the battle of Chotusitz . In the Second Silesian War he became a colonel on January 16, 1745 . He fought in the Battle of Hohenfriedberg and was now commander of Infantry Regiment No. 12 . In the Battle of Thrush he was responsible for covering the camp and the bakery, then covering the retreat of the Prussians from Bohemia to Silesia. Then he came to the corps of Field Marshal Leopold von Anhalt-Dessau on the Elbe. He held up bravely in the battle of Kesselsdorf . In 1747 the king gave him the right to hunt high on the Poritz estate. In November 1748 he got the Infantry Regiment No. 17 as major general and the official team of Mühlenhof and Mühlenbeck. When the Seven Years War broke out in 1756 , Jeetze was exhausted and asked for his release. He was released as a lieutenant general with a pension of 1,500 thalers .

Jeetze was married twice. His first wife was Sophia Wilhelmine von Viereck († October 30, 1742), daughter of the Minister Adam Otto von Viereck . The couple had a son and two daughters who died before the father.

On November 2, 1756 he married Sophia Maria Charlotte von Lattorf (* November 3, 1733; † March 29, 1791). She was the daughter of Hans Wilhelm Friedrich von Lattorf († November 13, 1733) and Sophie Charlotte Louise von Jeetze (born January 18, 1712;) from the house of Kladen. The couple had no children.
