Adoufe is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in the Portuguese district ( concelho ) of Vila Real . It has 2166 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).

On September 29, 2013 the parishes of Adoufe and Vilarinho de Samardã were merged to form the new parish União das Freguesias de Adoufe e Vilarinho de Samardã .

history

The place Coêdo received city ​​rights in 1212 , 1253 the place Gravelos. King D.Sancho II gave the entire municipality of Adoufe to the Archdiocese of Braga in 1238 . In the royal records of 1530, Adoufe was then already listed as a parish of the Vila Real district.

Culture and sights

The listed stone bridge Ponte de Pedra leads over the Rio Corgo .

Other monuments of the municipality are two school buildings and various religious buildings , including the parish church Igreja de Paroquial Adoufe , after their patron saint and Igreja de Santa Maria .
