Albert Alexander Gaede (born December 21, 1813 in Hohenfelde, Randow district , † April 26, 1882 in Stettin ) was a Prussian major general and commander of the 5th Artillery Brigade .

Alexander was a son of the bailiff and landowner Karl Wilhelm Gaede and his wife Juliane Friederike, nee Fiebelkorn.

Military career

Gaede attended secondary school in Schwedt / Oder and, after graduating on April 7, 1829, joined the 2nd Artillery Brigade of the Prussian Army as a gunner . Gaede married Emilie Francke (1825–1888), a daughter of the court preacher Francke from Kolberg, on November 16, 1850 in Kolberg. The future general of the infantry Hans Gaede (1852-1916) was his son.
