Amazons on the Moon or Why the Americans have the channel full (alternative title: Amazons on the Moon , original title: Amazon Women on the Moon ) is an American comedy film from 1987 . It consists of 22 episodes (in a different version 21 episodes) directed by Joe Dante , Carl Gottlieb , Peter Horton , John Landis and Robert K. Weiss . The German premiere took place on December 22, 1988.
action
The film consists of a series of various skits and episodes. The central point here is a broadcast of the fictitious B-movie from the 1960s "Amazons on the Moon" (repeatedly interrupted by "technical problems") in the night program of a television station. Around the rudimentary plot pieces, there are further recordings of parodies of advertising as well as skits with different topics.
Reviews
Roger Ebert wrote in the Chicago Sun-Times of September 18, 1987 that the film would appear “faintly daring” 20 years earlier. In the meantime, however, there has been a departure from simple satire. Many of the skits had original and even funny ideas, but overall the film “ran out of ammunition” over long periods of time.
The lexicon of international films wrote: "A continuation of the 1977 produced film" Kentucky Fried Movie "by John Landis, dominated by harmless joke and playful nonsense, without particular ingenuity and largely without critical bite."
background
The film was shot in California . He played in the cinemas of the United States about 549,000 US dollars one.
