Regarding the leading role of the schoolgirl Riff Randell, the filmmakers had chosen the actress PJ Soles because of her outstanding presence as supporting actress in the horror film Halloween - The Night of Horror from 1978. In the role of the strict school principal Evelyn Togar is the actress Mary Woronov to see, which formerly belonged to the artist group around Pop Art co-founder Andy Warhol .
