Andrews is a census-designated place (CDP) in Levy County in the US state of Florida with 798 inhabitants (as of 2010).

geography

Andrews borders the cities of Chiefland and Fanning Springs and is crossed by US Highways 19 , 27 Alternate and 98 on a shared route . The CDP is located about 20 km west of Bronson and about 160 km southwest of Jacksonville .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 798 inhabitants were distributed over 361 households. The population density was 45.1 inh / km². 94.4% of the population identified themselves as whites, 0.9% as African-Americans , 0.4% as Indians, and 0.5% as Asian Americans . 1.9% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 2.0% to several ethnic groups. 6.0% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 30.5% of all households and persons aged 65 and over lived in 38.3% of all households. 71.8% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.59 and the average family size was 3.00.

25.0% of the population were younger than 20 years, 22.2% were 20 to 39 years old, 24.7% were 40 to 59 years old, and 28.1% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 43 years. 49.6% of the population were male and 50.4% were female.

The median annual income was $ 35,637, with 8.8% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 100% of the population.
