Morriston is a census-designated place (CDP) in Levy County in the US state of Florida with 164 inhabitants (as of 2010).

geography

Morriston is about 30 km southeast of Bronson and about 140 km southwest of Jacksonville . The CDP is affected by US Highway 41 .

history

From 1913 a line of the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad connected Morriston with Archer .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the 164 inhabitants at that time were distributed over 48 households. The population density was 149.1 inh / km². 75.6% of the population identified themselves as whites , 1.8% as African American and 0.6% as Indians . 20.7% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 1.2% to several ethnic groups. 37.8% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 30.5% of all households and persons aged 65 and over lived in 25.4% of all households. 72.9% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.78 people and the average family size was 3.28 people.

31.1% of the population were younger than 20 years, 18.9% were 20 to 39 years old, 29.8% were 40 to 59 years old, and 20.1% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 40 years. 57.3% of the population were male and 32.7% were female.

The average annual income was $ 29,375 with no one living below the poverty line.
