East Bronson is a census-designated place (CDP) in Levy County in the US state of Florida with 1945 inhabitants (as of 2010).

East Bronson borders directly on the city of Bronson to the west and is approximately 130 km southwest of Jacksonville . The CDP is affected by US Highway 27 Alternate ( SR 500 ) and Florida State Road 24 .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the 1945 population at that time was distributed among 935 households. The population density was 65.7 inh / km². 86.6% of the population identified themselves as white, 5.6% as African-American , 0.3% as Native American and 0.3% as Asian Americans . 4.3% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 2.9% to several ethnic groups. 13.8% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 33.7% of all households and persons aged 65 or over lived in 28.9% of all households. 71.7% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.68 people and the average family size was 3.04 people.

26.2% of the population were younger than 20 years, 23.9% were 20 to 39 years old, 28.6% were 40 to 59 years old, and 21.4% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 40 years. 49.3% of the population were male and 50.7% were female.

The median annual income was $ 28,242, with 24.2% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the first language of 96.94% of the population and 3.06% spoke Spanish .
