Fanning Springs is a city in the counties Gilchrist and Levy in the US state Florida with 764 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Fanning Springs is on the east bank of the Suwannee River ; Fanning Springs State Park stretches along the shore . The city is located about 10 km west of Trenton , 35 km northwest of Bronson and about 160 km southwest of Jacksonville .
Demographic data
According to the 2010 census, the then 764 inhabitants were distributed among 415 households. The population density was 78 inhabitants / km². 95.0% of the population identified themselves as whites, 0.8% as African American , 1.4% as Indians and 0.7% as Asian Americans . 0.9% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 1.2% to several ethnic groups. 7.7% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .
In 2010 children under the age of 18 and 40.5% of all households lived in 24.7% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 63.4% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.33 people and the average family size was 2.77 people.
20.8% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 20.5% were 20 to 39 years old, 25.1% were 40 to 59 years old, and 33.7% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 49 years. 49.6% of the population were male and 50.4% were female.
