Armin Wirth (* 15. July 1971 in Traunstein ; pseudonym : Dj Swam ) is a German dance - DJ , music producer and media entrepreneur.

Life

Wirth opened one of the first Internet mailorder shops in 1993 and has opened eight further branches worldwide in Great Britain, Hungary, Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands, Russia, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

In 2001 he founded the record company DANCE ALL DAY with the sublabels Baccara Music, Bootleg Beats, Fiume Beat, Forbidden, Loft, Technosforza Rec., Munich, Vinyl Loop Records and Vinyl Loops Classics. As a label manager and producer, he brought out productions on the labels Polystar Records, Intercord Tonträger GmbH, Sony Music Entertainment and Edel Records .

With the Vinyl Loops Classics series, Armin Wirth managed to bring a 21-episode vinyl series onto the market that includes the who's who of the dance / electronic scene. The Vinyl Loops Classic series is one of the best-selling vinyl dance compilations worldwide. These include Moby , The Prodigy , New Order , Tiësto , Robert Miles , DJ Hell , Donna Summer , Todd Terry , ATB , Corey Hart , Chaka Khan and Stereo MCs . A CD for the vinyl series was later released at Amazon on October 20, 2003.

In 1999 Armin Wirth created Content Partner . Content Partner is a community consisting of over 30 online shops worldwide, which together use digitized covers, audio samples and article descriptions for their online offerings. The best-known and largest members include ExLibris from Switzerland, Esound Records from England and iMusik from Denmark.

From 1997 to 2001 Armin Wirth worked for the ProSiebenSat1 and MTV Europe teletext editorial team on the creation of the Top Ten Dance Charts.

In 2001 Armin Wirth published Steve Murano's club hit - Passion, which was the first dance track in history to make it to number 1 in all four German dance charts such as DDC, DMC, Dj Top 40 and the Internet Music Charts. The title later entered the German Media Control Top 100. Steve Murano's music video ran on MTV and VIVA . The title “Passion” was later licensed by Kontor Records in Hamburg and released worldwide.

In 2005 Wirth Armin was a member of the jury of the Dance Music Award 2005. In cooperation with the Deutsche Phono-Akademie e. V., the dance music magazine Raveline brought the dance scene back into the focus of the general public at CeBIT in Hanover. 120 experts from all branches of the entertainment industry came together to determine the winners of the Dance Music Award for 2005.

In 2006 Armin Wirth founded the portal Feiyr for free independent musicians, producers, labels and book publishers. Feiyr is an online portal for digital music and e-book sales and independently sells DRM- free pieces of music in MP3 format to sales portals such as B. iTunes, Amazon, Spotify or Napster. Feiyr is the only independent music distributor that delivers to independent music shops for the “Big Four” major labels such as Universal Music Group, Sony BMG (Sony and BMG joint venture), Warner Music Group and EMI Music . In April 2011, Feiyr had over 1.2 million songs under contract and delivered to portals such as iTunes and Amazon.

As managing director and owner of Feiyr, Armin Wirth bought the music platform DJTunes.com, financed by MP3 inventor Karlheinz Brandenburg , for 2.3 million euros in 2013 .

In 2016 Armin Wirth expanded the sales portfolio to include books and CDs by purchasing Nova MD GmbH. Nova MD was founded in 1999 by Alfred Zinke and bought by Armin Wirth for 13.6 million euros. The company headquarters including the office, warehouse and logistics were relocated to Vachendorf near Traunstein . Among the well-known musicians from the sales program includes DJ Hell and Ursprung Buam that records and platinum have been awarded 18 Golden once, and Systems in Blue , which in 2003 after the break with Dieter Bohlen by former studio singers of Modern Talking and Blue System was established . Litigation

In 2006 Armin Wirth was forbidden to use the word " Deejay " for advertising and marketing, especially the representation of the word on websites and names of audio hi-fi products. A German online shop operator had claimed that this owner of all trademark rights to the term "Deejay". In a process that lasted for years, the 14th civil senate of the Dresden Higher Regional Court finally issued judgment v. January 9, 2007 - Ref .: 14 U 1958/06 states that the term "Deejay" is free and needy and can be used by anyone.
