Directed by Mati Diop , who wrote the script together with Olivier Demangel . At Rotten Tomatoes , the film was able to convince 96 percent of the critics and received an average rating of 7.9 out of a possible 10 points. The film also came second in the 21st Annual Golden Tomato Awards in the Best Romance Movies category . In the critics' mirror of the Cannes Film Festival by critic.de he received mostly positive reviews.
