Au is one of 24 districts of the municipality of Simmelsdorf in Middle Franconia in the district of Nürnberger Land .

geography

The hamlet is located about one kilometer south of the center of Simmelsdorf on the eastern slope of the Schnaittach valley .

history

The village, first mentioned in 1403, consisted from the 15th to the 19th century from the goods Ober-, Mittel- and Unterau.

As a result of the administrative reforms in the Kingdom of Bavaria at the beginning of the 19th century, the place became part of the rural community Rabenshof with the second municipal edict . This was dissolved on July 1, 1931 and the hamlet of Au was assigned to the rural community of Simmelsdorf . In 2016 Au had 15 inhabitants.

traffic

A municipal road leads to State Road 2241, which runs about 300 meters west of the village . The Schnaittachtalbahn with a train station in Simmelsdorf runs 100 m to the west .
