Augerville-la-Rivière is a commune with 232 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in France , about 80 km from Paris and 30 km from Fontainebleau . It is located on the banks of the Essonne River . Administratively Augerville-la-Rivière is part of the department of Loiret in the region Center-Val de Loire . Olivier Citron has been mayor of Augerville-la-Rivière since March 2008.

Personalities

At the end of the 1920s, Alva Vanderbilt Belmont (1853–1933) bought the Loire castle Château d'Augerville , built by King Charles VII for his mistress Agnès Sorel , in Augerville-la-Rivière. In the summer of 1932, she suffered a stroke while driving and was paralyzed on one side. On January 26, 1933, she died of complications from bronchitis .
