geography
Pithiviers-le-Vieil is located about 36 kilometers northeast of Orléans on the River Oeuf . Pithiviers-le-Vieil is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Guigneville in the north and north-west, Engenville in the north, Pithiviers in the east and north-east, Dadonville in the east, Ascoux in the south-east, Laas in the south, Escrennes in the south and south-west, Jouy-en-Pithiverais in the West and south-west and Greneville-en-Beauce to the west and north-west.
The former route nationale 152 (today's D2152) runs along the western municipal boundary. The Pithiviers airfield is located in the municipality.
