August Bolte

August Henry Bolte (born September 23, 1854 in Missouri , †  June 24, 1920 in St. Louis , Missouri) was an American politician . Between 1897 and 1901 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Missouri.

Career

After studying law and being admitted to the bar, August Bolte began to work in this profession. At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Democratic Party . In 1896 he was elected lieutenant governor of Missouri alongside Lon Vest Stephens . He held this office between January 11, 1897 and January 14, 1901. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate . In 1916 he was a substitute delegate to the Democratic National Convention , on which President Woodrow Wilson was nominated for re-election. Otherwise he was no longer politically active. August Bolte died of heart disease in St. Louis on June 24, 1920.
