Stephen Hugh Claycomb

Stephen Hugh Claycomb (born August 11, 1847 in Missouri , †  June 6, 1930 in Joplin , Missouri) was an American politician . Between 1889 and 1893 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Missouri.

Career

Stephen Claycomb began working in the profession after studying law and being admitted to the bar . At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Democratic Party . He has served in both the Missouri House of Representatives and the State Senate . The exact dates of its respective legislative periods have not been passed down.

In 1888 Claycomb was elected Lieutenant Governor of Missouri alongside David Rowland Francis . He held this office between January 14, 1889 and January 9, 1893. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate. After his time as Lieutenant Governor, he was no longer politically active. He died on June 6, 1930 in Joplin, Missouri.
