The August Prize ( Swedish August Prize ) is the most prestigious Swedish literary prize . It has been awarded annually by the Swedish Publishers' Association ( Svenska Förläggareföreningen ) in memory of August Strindberg since 1989 , although book proposals can only be submitted by Swedish publishers. The award ceremony took place in the Berwaldhalle until 2007 and since then in the Konserthuset in Stockholm .
