News from Büttenwarder is a television series of the Norddeutscher Rundfunk of Norbert Eberlein . It takes place in the fictional village of Büttenwarder in Schleswig-Holstein and is an offshoot of the NDR series Heimatgeschichten .
action
Jan Fedder as Kurt Brakelmann and Peter Heinrich Brix as Arthur “Adsche” Tönnsen , who are also known as actors in the series Großstadtrevier , play the leading roles . Other actors are Axel Olsson as innkeeper Shorty and Sven Walser as stable hand Kuno , until 2015 also Günter Kütemeyer as mayor Dr. Waldemar Schönbiehl .
The series is shot in the Stormarn district (Schleswig-Holstein) and the surrounding area. The building of the Gasthof Unter den Linden , in the following called Dorfkrug , is in Grönwohld . Outside of filming, regular inns take place there, and Lütt un Lütt , the series' popular drink combination, is on the drinks menu.
Since the 63rd episode, the town of Grove in the Duchy of Lauenburg has also been filmed. The common room of the volunteer fire brigade in the old village school is being prepared as the Erika Primatzki hairdressing salon . Additional location shots were filmed in Grove. An NDR documentary Fresh Blown was created and broadcast for the first time in 2015.
The 25-minute long episodes of the series are primarily about the friendship between the two protagonists Brakelmann and Adsche , who keep trying to outdo each other, but stick together in crisis situations against all supposed hostility. The series impresses above all with its situation comedy .

Episodes
Büttenwarder op Platt
The individual episodes are initially all produced in High German and then dubbed again in Low German in the studio by the same actors . The translation into Low German is done by Peter Nissen and Hartmut Cyriacks . The stories are mostly broadcast first in High German and later as Büttenwarder op Platt .
Television broadcasts and DVD publications
The first episode of UFOs about Büttenwarder was shown on December 26, 1997 by NDR television as part of Heimatgeschichten (this series has been running since the early 1990s) from 10:25 pm on NDR. On December 26, 1999, two more new episodes from the Heimatgeschichten series ran in the evening ( night of love in Büttenwarder and election campaign in Büttenwarder ). In 2001 they were integrated into the series News from Büttenwarder .
The first eight episodes (three old, five new) starting with quilting The bear - now under the series title News from Büttenwarder - were Tuesdays from January 16, 2001 a week in the first broadcast; further episodes were added at irregular intervals from 2004 onwards. As a separate series in the main evening program (9:05 pm) of the first, the episodes lacked the required visual participation ; Repetitions on N3 , on the other hand, proved very popular.
Of News from Büttenwarder there are now 91 wacky consequences; the latest episodes to date were broadcast over the 2019 Christmas holidays.
Since September 28, 2006, all episodes have gradually been released on DVD (73 episodes plus bonus material such as documentaries, specials, etc. on 22 DVDs). These DVD editions contain both language versions and have also been available as a DVD box (14 DVDs) since December 7, 2012.
Audio versions of the episodes have also been produced and broadcast since 2011. In 2015 the video album Neues aus Büttenwarder received a gold record (Germany: Comedy Award).
Scouting
In order to further increase audience loyalty, the NDR organized a casting on YouTube at the beginning of 2010 . There the participants could send in videos they had shot with their very special talents. Over 330 video entries reached the NDR. The 20 best videos were selected by a jury and were available for voting. After the vote, a final casting took place with five remaining people in the village inn . The winner received a guest role in the episode War Probably Murder . At the casting, Jan Fedder spontaneously gave another guest appearance for the second winner.
15 years of news from Büttenwarder
As part of the celebrations for its 15th birthday, the series toured four northern German cities with a specially designed film role. In the cinema, the episodes of compensation for pain and suffering , good appetite and sheep clouds as well as excerpts from the documentary 15 Years - 15 Questions were shown.
Brixi - I only exist twice
On the occasion of the 60th birthday of Peter Heinrich Brix, this little special episode was created in which the actor Peter Heinrich Brix dreams that he is on the way to the set. There he meets almost all the characters in the series, including Adsche Tönnsen, who he plays, but who do not recognize him - fiction within fiction with background information on the series.
