career

Beñat joined Athletic Bilbao at the age of eleven , where he subsequently received his football training. He was later accepted into the B-Team and from 2006 was also part of the first team. However, he was only used once as a substitute for a few minutes. He then moved to the 2008/09 season in the Segunda División B to UB Conquense , before moving to the Betis Sevilla B team in the summer of 2009 within the league . In 2010 he was promoted to the first squad in the Segunda División and immediately managed to secure a regular place there. This season, he and his team also achieved promotion to the Primera División . Also in this league he kept his regular place and was then appointed to the provisional squad for the EM 2012 , although he had not yet played a game for the national team.

For the 2013/14 season, Beñat moved within the Primera Division from Betis Sevilla to Athletic Bilbao.
