Óscar de Marcos Arana (born April 14, 1989 in Laguardia ) is a Spanish football player . He has been playing for Athletic Bilbao since 2009 in the Primera División , the top Spanish division.

Career

de Marcos began his career in the youth of Deportivo Alavés , where he was brought into the first team in 2008 via the B-team. In 2008/09 one was in the Segunda División, the second highest division, table 19. and got out of it. The striker then turned his back on the club and moved to Athletic Bilbao . With the Basques he played in his first season in the UEFA Europa League and in the final of the Spanish Supercup, which was lost. The striker made his debut at European club level on August 6, 2009 in qualifying for the Europa League against Swiss representative BSC Young Boys from Bern, the match in Bern was won 2-1.

With a sixth place in the Primera División 2010/11 , Bilbao qualified for the UEFA Europa League 2011/12 . There de Marcos reached with his club after victories a. a. the final of the European Cup via Manchester United , FC Schalke 04 and Sporting Lisbon , but lost to Spanish league rivals Atlético Madrid in the final . The striker had 13 games and four goals.

At national team level, de Marcos has so far played for some of Spain's youth selections. He took part in the U-20 World Cup in Egypt in 2009 . The striker was substituted on in the group game against Tahiti and played through against Venezuela . Spain were eliminated in the round of 16 against Italy .
