Yuri Berchiche Izeta (born February 10, 1990 in Zarautz ) is a Spanish football player .
Career
Berchiche started his career at Antiguoko KE . In 2004 he moved to Real Sociedad . In 2005 he joined the youth team at Athletic Bilbao . In 2007 he moved to Tottenham Hotspur in England . In March 2009 he was awarded to the third division club Cheltenham Town until the end of the season. He made his League One debut in the same month as he was in the starting line-up against FC Walsall on Matchday 40 of the 2008/09 season . With Cheltenham he was relegated to the end of the season from League One.
For the 2009/10 season he returned to Spain on loan and moved to Real Valladolid , where he was mainly used for the B-team in the Tercera División . His only game for Valladolid in the Primera División , he completed in August 2009 against the UD Almería .
For the 2010/11 season Berchiche moved to the Spanish third division Real Unión Irún . In his two years at the club, he was used in 45 games in the Segunda División B and scored one goal. In 2012 he moved to Real Sociedad, for which he had already played as a youth. First, however, he was awarded for two years to the third division SD Eibar . With Eibar, he rose to the Segunda División in 2013 . In the promotion season 2012/13 he was used in 30 third division games. He played his first game for Eibar in the second highest Spanish league in August 2013 against Real Jaén . He scored his first goal in the Segunda División in February 2014 in a 1-0 win against UD Las Palmas . With Eibar, he also rose to the Primera División in 2014.
After the loan ended, he returned to Real Sociedad in the summer of 2014. In his first two seasons with the club, he completed 21 games in the top Spanish league, in which he remained without a hit. In September 2016, Berchiche scored his first goal in the Primera División in a 2-1 loss to Villarreal CF. At the end of the 2016/17 season, he had 35 games in the league, in which he scored three goals.
In July 2017 he moved to Paris Saint-Germain in France . For PSG, he played 22 Ligue 1 games in the 2017/18 season , in which he scored two goals. With the club he won the French championship, the cup and the league cup that season.
After a season in France, he returned to Spain for the 2018/19 season, joining Athletic Bilbao, for which he had already played in his youth.
