Kenan Kodro (born August 19, 1993 in San Sebastian , Spain ) is a Bosnian - Spanish football player . He is under contract with Athletic Bilbao .

Career

Kodro's father, Meho Kodro , was also a soccer player and striker . Kenan first played in San Sebastián with Antiguoko Kirol Elkartea and later went through the youth teams of Real Sociedad San Sebastián . He made his professional debut with the second team of Real Sociedad. In the winter of 2012 Kodro was loaned to Lagun Onak in the fourth Spanish division .

In July 2014, Kodro signed a contract with CA Osasuna that was originally only for the second team. However, he made his debut for the first team on August 23, 2014 when he with a 2: 0 home win against Barcelona B came off the bench. On October 18, 2014, he scored his first goal as a professional player; he scored the 3-2 winner in a home win against CD Tenerife . On January 28, 2015, Kodro extended his contract term until 2018. He was involved in the promotion to the Primera División : In the playoffs he scored three goals in four games, two of them in the final against FC Girona . Kodro made his first division debut on August 19, 2016 in a 1-1 away match against FC Málaga . He scored his first first division goal on January 22, 2017 in a 4-3 loss to Sevilla .

At the end of June 2017, Bundesliga club 1. FSV Mainz 05 signed Kodro with a four-year contract. On February 14, 2018, it was awarded to the Grasshopper Club Zurich until the end of the season. On July 3, 2018, he moved to the Danish league for FC Copenhagen and signed a four-year contract.

But already on January 31, 2019, the Spanish first division club Athletic Bilbao announced the commitment of the striker with a contract until 2022.

National team

In March 2017 Kodro was first for the World Cup qualifiers in 2018 in the squad of the Bosnian national team appointed. He made his debut on March 28, 2017 against Albania . He played from the start and prepared a goal from Senad Lulić for a 2-1 win. He scored his first international goal on September 3, 2017 in a 4-0 away win in World Cup qualification against Gibraltar .
