Bernd Kuschnerus

Bernd Kuschnerus (* 1962 in Bremen ) is a Protestant theologian and pastor as well as secretary of the Bremen Evangelical Church (BEK).

biography

Kuschnerus studied theology in Kiel and Marburg. From 1994 to 1999 he was a research assistant at the University of Marburg , where he received his doctorate in 2000 (dissertation: The community as the letter of Christ. The communicative function of metaphor for Paul using the example of 2 Cor 2–5 ). From 1999 he and his wife took care of the Melanchthon Church in Bremen-Osterholz .

In 2001, Kuschnerus became a member of the BEK's Kirchentag and was active there in the children and youth committee. In 2007 he became a member of the church committee (church governing body) and the theological commission as well as deputy secretary.

In 2019 he was elected by the Kirchentag of the Evangelical Church in Bremen as the successor to Renke Brahms for six years as secretary and thus leading clergyman of the BEK.

Kuschnerus is married and has four adult children.
