Jochen Cornelius-Bundschuh (born July 30, 1957 in Fulda ) is a German Protestant theologian and regional bishop of the Evangelical Church in Baden .

Life

Cornelius-Bundschuh grew up in a new development in Fulda, his father was a teacher at a vocational school, his mother a housewife. He passed his Abitur in 1976 in his hometown and studied on a scholarship from the German National Academic Foundation at the theological faculties in Göttingen , Tübingen and Edinburgh . In 1988 he was ordained pastor in the Evangelical Church of Kurhessen-Waldeck and received his doctorate with his presentations on liturgy between tradition and renewal . Cornelius-Bundschuh joined the parish office in 1995 after his time as an assistant in Göttingen and looked after the parish in Fuldabrückpastoral. In 2000 he was in Göttingen to work Church of the Word - homiletic interested contributions to preaching and community habilitation and was appointed associate professor in Göttingen in 2008, and since 2010 he has taught as an adjunct professor in Heidelberg .

In 2001 he took over the leadership of the preachers' seminar of the church of Kurhessen-Waldeck in Hofgeismar , from 2009 he was head of the theological training department and the examination office in the Evangelical Upper Church Council of the Baden regional church. In July 2013, Cornelius-Bundschuh was elected by the regional synod in Bad Herrenalb as regional bishop of the Evangelical regional church in Baden for twelve years. He prevailed against Heinz-Martin Döpp and Kerstin Gäfgen-Track . On June 1, 2014, he succeeded Ulrich Fischer .

Private

Cornelius-Bundschuh is married to a pastor and has three children.
