Karl-Hinrich Manzke (born February 13, 1958 in Stade ) is a Lutheran theologian and regional bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Schaumburg-Lippe in Bückeburg .

Live and act

Karl-Hinrich Manzke was the son of the late Stader country Superintendent Karl Manzke born (1928-2008). He grew up in Celle and attended the Ernestinum grammar school in the Heidestadt from 1967 to 1976 .

Between 1976 and 1982 Manzke studied Protestant theology and philosophy at the Universities of Tübingen , London and Munich . In 1982 he passed the first theological exam. 1990 doctorate Manzke a doctorate in theology in Munich with Wolfhart Pannenberg .

Manzke entered the service of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hanover and between 1988 and 1995 took over a pastor's position in Soltau . From 1995 to 1998 he devoted himself to pastor training and became director of studies at the Imbshausen seminary near Northeim .

In 1998 Manzke took over the duties of superintendent of the Aurich parish in East Friesland and was at the same time pastor at the Aurich Lambertikirche .

On June 23, 2009, Manzke was elected to succeed Jürgen Johannesdotter as regional bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran regional church Schaumburg-Lippe based in Bückeburg . Manzke took office on December 14, 2009. On January 9, 2010 the official inauguration took place in the town church of Bückeburg . Since 2011, Manzke has also been the representative of the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD) for evangelical pastoral care in the federal police . In April 2014 Manzke was appointed Catholica Commissioner of the United Evangelical Lutheran Church in Germany .

Karl-Hinrich Manzke is married to Christine Manzke and has two children.
