Bernd Seebacher

Bernd Seebacher (born October 15, 1948 in Bludenz ) is an Austrian actor .

Life

Seebacher completed an acting training at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna . He had his first engagement in the mid-1970s at the Freie Volksbühne in Berlin under the artistic director Kurt Hübner . Further permanent engagements followed at the Schauspiel Bonn and at the Zurich Schauspielhaus under the management of Gerhard Klingenberg . Seebacher has been working as a freelance actor since 1983. He had guest engagements at the Berlin Renaissance Theater , the Stuttgart Schauspielhaus , the Freiburg Theater and the Atelier Theater in Bern .

On the stage, Seebacher interpreted a broad repertoire , which included plays by William Shakespeare , the German authors of the Classical and Romantic periods , the theater of the turn of the century , but also pieces from the modern and contemporary theater. In 1978 he played at the Schauspielhaus Zürich together with Eva Rieck in the German-language premiere of the play Das Bündel ( The Bundle ) by Edward Bond ; Directed by Gerd Heinz .

He played, among others, the Paris in Romeo and Juliet (Freie Volksbühne Berlin, director: Kurt Hübner, 1975), the Cleante in Tartuffe (Schauspielhaus Zürich, director: Jean-Pierre Ponnelle , with Marlies Engel as Béline and Peter Ehrlich as Orgon, 1981 ), Erhart Borkman in John Gabriel Borkmann (Schauspielhaus Zürich with Renate Schroeter as Fanny Wilton, 1979) and Fritz Lobheimer in Liebelei (Renaissance-Theater Berlin, director: Heribert Sasse , partner: Hans Putz , Kitty Mattern , season 1982/1983 ). In 1987 Seebacher performed at the Bad Hersfeld Festival . He also performed with the Helmut Förnbacher Theater Company , a. a. 1997 as Roberto Miranda in Ariel Dorfman 's Death and the Maiden , directed by Thomas Blubacher .

Since the early 1990s, Seebacher has been involved in numerous touring theater productions. In the 1991/1992 season he played Mellefont in the tragedy Miss Sara Sampson ; his partners were Johanna Liebeneiner and Saskia Fischer . In the 1992/1993 season he played the role of Tom Wingfield in the American psychodrama Die Glasmenagerie at the side of Gisela Uhlen and Renate Blume . In 1998 he played the title role in Hugo von Hofmannsthal's Jedermann at the Zurich Festival under the direction of Thomas Blubacher . In 2002 he went on a tour with the tabloid comedy Boeing-Boeing by Marc Camoletti in a production by Rolf von Sydow ; his partner was Beatrice Richter . Seebacher then played on tour in two pieces by Max Frisch : Biedermann und die Brandstifter (2005/2006) and Biography: Ein Spiel (2007). In 2007 he took on the role of secretary Linus in the world premiere of the play Lioba, Lioba by Werner Wüthrich at the Lyssach court theater. In the 2010/2011 season he played Faust in a tour production of Urfaust at the Tournee Theater Greve .

From the 1970s, Seebacher was also seen in a few movies and television roles. In 1980 and 1982 he played in two episodes of the crime scene of the North German Broadcasting Corporation, detective chief Piper investigating in Bremen . From 1987 to 1993 he had a leading role in the ARD television series Moselbrück . He played alongside Liane Hielscher the Martin Zerfass , the stepson of the indebted estate heiress Hanna Zerfass . In 1985 he appeared in Salzburg on the ARD TV show One will win as an artist.

Seebacher also worked as a speaker for radio plays and audio books . In 1990 he recorded a three-person version of the novel Schuld und Atonement on ORF .

In the 1990s Seebacher was briefly in a relationship with the actress Ingrid Steeger .
