Best is a best-of album by the German rock band Scorpions . The album was released in 1999 by the EMI label.

Compilation

The album contains songs from all phases of the Scorpions, for example the song I'm Going Mad from the first album Lonesome Crow and appears for the first time on a best-of compilation. The songs date from Lonesome Crow to Crazy World . It is the only single best-of record by the band that includes songs from all time periods up to 1990. In addition, Love is Blind is a previously unreleased song. At the time of publication, the Scorpions were at a difficult time in their careers; the studio album Eye II Eye , released about half a year earlier, fell far short of the expectations of fans and critics, and sales figures also fell dramatically. During the tour, especially in Europe, they often played in halls that were only half full. With the release of this compilation , the band and record company tried to bring back at least some of the old fans . This worked out quite well, it turned out that the band's classics were still popular, and so this compilation was quite a success, especially in Europe. Former drummer Herman Rarebell described the record as the Flashback of a Good Time . Rarebell also wrote the composition and lyrics of the bonus track Love Is Blind .
