Boniowice (German: Boniowitz ) is a village in Upper Silesia . It is located in the rural community Zbrosławice (Broslawitz) in the Powiat Tarnogórski (Tarnowitz district) in the Silesian Voivodeship .

Boniowice is four kilometers southwest of the municipal seat Zbrosławice , 13 kilometers southwest of the district town Tarnowskie Góry (Tarnowitz) and 27 kilometers northwest of the voivodship capital Katowice (Kattowitz).
history
The place originated in the 13th century and was first mentioned as "Benewitz" in 1295–1305 in Liber fundationis episcopatus Vratislaviensis (Tithe Register of the Diocese of Breslau).
The place was mentioned in 1783 in the book Beytrage to describe Silesia as Boiniowitz and had a farm, eight farmers and 43 inhabitants. It belonged to Karl von Strachwitz. In 1818 the place was mentioned as Boeniowitz . In 1865 Boniowitz consisted of a manor and a village. A Vorwerk belonged to the manor. The village had eight arable farms, four moving houses and a Kretscham (restaurant). Furthermore, the residents of Karchowitz were parish and schooled.
In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 27 eligible voters voted to remain with Germany and 41 for Poland. Boniowitz remained with the German Empire . In 1936 the place was renamed Wohlingen . Until 1945 the place was in the district of Tost-Gleiwitz .
In 1945 the previously German place came under Polish administration and was renamed Boniowice and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 the place came to the Katowice Voivodeship . In 1999 the place came to the re-established Powiat Tarnogórski and the new Silesian Voivodeship .
