Ziemięcice (German: Ziemientzitz ) is a village in Upper Silesia . It is located in the municipality of Zbrosławice (Broslawitz) in the powiat Tarnogórski (Tarnowitz district) in the Silesian Voivodeship .

Ziemięcice is located seven kilometers southwest of the municipality Zbrosławice , 15 kilometers southwest of the district town of Tarnowskie Góry ( Tarnowitz ) and 24 kilometers northwest of the voivodeship capital Katowice ( Kattowitz ).

The A1 motorway is nearby .

history

The place was created in the 13th century at the latest and was mentioned in a document as "Semenczicz" in 1295–1305 in the Liber fundationis episcopatus Vratislaviensis ( Tithe Register of the Diocese of Wroclaw ). A church in the village was mentioned in 1447.

The place was mentioned in 1783 in the book Beytrage for the description of Silesia as Zimminzi (t) z , belonged to a Mr. General von Werner and was located in the district of Tost and had 154 inhabitants, a farm, a Catholic school, 15 farmers, 15 gardeners and some cottagers . In 1818 the place was mentioned as Zimminzitz . In 1865 Ziemientzütz consisted of a dominium and a church village. In 1801 the estate was acquired by the Count von Strachwitz. A manorial Vorwerk in the village with a castle and the outer Vorwerk bread chamber belonged to the Dominium. The community with the church village had five farmers, 28 gardeners, eight half-gardeners, seven cottagers, six stately chamber houses, a Catholic parish, a Catholic school, a Kretscham (restaurant), a blacksmith's shop, a water mill and a stately Arrende (leased Property).

In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 132 eligible voters voted to remain in Germany and 296 to belong to Poland. Ziemientzitz remained with the German Empire . On January 9, 1935, the place was renamed Ackerfelde OS in the course of a wave of renaming of the Nazi era . Until 1945 the place was in the district of Tost-Gleiwitz .

In 1945 the formerly German town came under Polish administration and was then attached to the Silesian Voivodeship and renamed Ziemięcice on November 12, 1946 . In 1950 the place came to the Katowice Voivodeship . In 1999 the place came to the re-established Powiat Tarnogórski and the new Silesian Voivodeship.
