Jaśkowice (German: Jaschkowitz ) is a village in Upper Silesia . It is located in the municipality of Zbrosławice (Broslawitz) in the powiat Tarnogórski (Tarnowitz district) in the Silesian Voivodeship .

Jaśkowice is located seven kilometers west of the municipality Zbrosławice , 15 kilometers west of the district town Tarnowskie Góry ( Tarnowitz ) and 30 kilometers northwest of the voivodeship capital Katowice ( Kattowitz ).
history
The place originated in the 15th century at the latest and was first mentioned in a document in 1490.
The place was mentioned in 1783 in the book Beytrage describing Silesia as Jaschkowi (t) z , belonged to a Caroline von Goßiski and was located in the Tost district and had 68 inhabitants, a farm, six farmers, eight gardeners and a few cottagers. In 1818 the place was mentioned as Jaschkowitz . In 1865 Jaschkowitz consisted of a manor and a village. The manor was owned by a Mr. Nehring and had an outbuilding of the same name and a Kretscham (restaurant). At that time the village had five farmers, twelve gardeners and nine cottagers. The school was in Zawada.
In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 37 eligible voters voted to remain with Germany and 86 for membership in Poland. Jaschkowitz remained with the German Empire . In 1936 the place was renamed Hirtweiler in the wake of a wave of renaming during the Nazi era . Until 1945 the place was in the district of Tost-Gleiwitz .
In 1945 the previously German town came under Polish administration and was then attached to the Silesian Voivodeship and renamed Jaśkowice in Poland . In 1950 the place came to the Katowice Voivodeship . In 1999 the place came to the re-established Powiat Tarnogórski and the new Silesian Voivodeship.
